I took the new battery back to where I bought it telling the clerk the post polarity is reversed on the new battery. I was dumbfounded when they brought out my old battery core and it was the same as the new battery. I was doing some serious head scratching. I almost hooked it up backwards but figured someone else must have had this issue so... to the FJ-09 forum I went. I have never heard of any vehicle having the battery installed on it's side. I can't believe I didn't notice it when I took it out...Doh! Thanks for sharing cretin. Sorry you had to be the first; but know that you've helped me and probably others by posting your experience.
