I would research some Tracer maintenance videos on youtube if looking for the step-by-step proceedure.  There are fuses under the seat and behind the right hand fairing panel.

There was a recent post where I mentioned the merits of any new bike owner familiarizing themself with basic maintenance procedures including removing the fairing panels.  Knowing how to get access to the battery, fuse blocks and airbox will save you a lot of frustration in the future.

The first time removing the fairing panels takes some patience until you know the drill as some parts fit into or under another piece like a puzzle.  After you have done it a few times (or a few dozen times) it can be done in minutes.

As @mikerbiker mentioned, if you need to get under the tank, remove the seat and put a folded towel in its place, remove all of the mount bolts for the tank and lift it straight up a few inches and turn it 180 degrees backward and place it on the towel, so you don't need to remove the electrical plug or fuel line.  When I rotate the tank, I stand on the left side of the bike and rotate the tank clock-wise, when I replace the tank I turn it back around counter clock-wise so the lines don't get twisted or kinked.

  2. Thanks guys. good shout on the starting it up etc. I'll get some fuel and top the tank off today and then leave it on the trickle charger. Its just the temptation to "play" and the closest I get to doing anything with it while in my recouperation!!!🤕

Thanks for the link to a diag tool too.

Kilo3 - I think you're probably spot on... I have been doing that.

    Cheers guys

  3. Hey guys, My bike has been laid up for a couple of months due to my having an operation on my neck. I'm not expected to be able to ride until early March. I've been running my bike up every week or so to put a heat cycle through it just to keep things free and moving etc (and to make me feel good !!). Yesterday I noticed that the engine trouble light stays on and I can't access the Menu on the dash. My theory is that it needs to be ridden rather than just run up in the garage but cant prove that clearly. The bike is kept on a Optimate trickle charger.

Is there any DIY diagnostic device I can get to connect to the bike to see if there is a trouble code I can see and therefore interpret what's wrong?

My bike is a UK spec 2019 Tracer 900GT

    Appreciate any advice

Just my opinion but I’d be moving the lights and putting the panel in place.  4,200 miles into a 6,000+ mile road trip.  Lots of bugs, then riding thru a rainstorm cleans some of the off but more bugs splat!  Today rode a gravel road in Glacier NationalPark and then ran into 5+ miles of road construction!   Think they are building the road!  It ranged from gravel to dirt and gravel to dirt!  Had water trucks keeping it wet down.  Now my bike is absolutely nasty with dried road grime, bug guts and general road nastiness.  Yea I’ll clean it when I get home but better to keep that stuff out of areas not designed to have it i there.

totally agree PhotoAl - I don't have time to do that before I go I don't think. I may get the panel and then take the lights off just for this trip then put them on when i get back. They need rewiring anyway as currently they can be left one while the bike is off!! not a good way to install IMO. Ihve already done that to the point of flattening the battery as i parked nise in and didnt see them on on my customary rear glance at the bike as i walk away!!

so now just got find somewhere i can get it in the UK

    cheers

You did not mention what year your bike is, but for a 2019 it appears to be B5C-84144-00-00.  It's $13.41 at partzilla.com.

Hey Thanks - Yes 2019.. sorry forgot to mention that. I can see therefore why the previous owner left it off. It wouldn't fit with the Aux lights where he placed them!  Boo!!

    thanks again.

  7. HI guys, Mark here AKA Stumpyone. Just bought a 2019 Tracer 900GT and currently getting to know it. First impressions are a excellent but I have a french alps tour coming up so that will be the test bed.

I'm on the south coast of the UK Close to Portsmouth. Been in biking for as long as I can remember and have owned a variety of bikes not least 2 Vmax's and 2 Triumph Trophy's. Moved to the 900GT from a Honda CBF1000 as it was getting a bit long in the tooth.

I've already benefitted from advice on here so my thanks to all those who passed advice. Looking forward to getting involved in topics etc

    Cheers

  8. Hi guys,

While getting to know my "new to me" Tracer 900 GT, i noticed that where the previous owner had fitted Givi Aux lights, it looks like he has removed an under fairing panel designed to keep weather and crap of the underside of the bike. See pic. I've looked on a couple of parts sites but cant find this panel on any of the Schematics.

would any of you know the part number or a site where i can get hold of one?

    Cheers guys

Have a look at this forum page 3 in the middle of the page (begins at message 22) https://www.mt09.net/t7873p60-installation-d-un-adaptateur-usb-12v-sur-une-tracer

It is in french (if you need I can help you to translate) and shows how to access to the aux connectors under the screen.

    Waterproof Connector https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/32794218728.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.202b378djCDBDS&mp=1&gatewayAdapt=glo2fra

    Non waterproof square connector  https://www.ebay.fr/itm/YAMAHA-prise-accessoire-a-sertir-MT07-MT09-FJ9-FZ07-FZ09-YZF-R1-R1M-R6-XSR-XTZ/174372724448

Otherwise as said previously you can connect to the tail light (I did it to connect my heated vest via a relay) by buying a connector like this https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/32905465583.html

Thanks to all for the advice guys. I'll take the nose off and have a look to see how they have wired them in and if they haven't used either of those sockets i'll rewire. I was out again today and did the same thing but one of my buddy's i was riding with reminded me. I must get it sorted.

    cheers

  10. Hi guys, New to the site and hoping for some help. Not long bought a 2019 Tracer 900 GT (UK) which came with Givi Aux lights fitted. They are however directly connected to the battery or an always on supply connector (not found that yet!). Is there a switched outlet on the bike somewhere that I can connect the switch relay trigger to so that it can only be turned on while the ignition is on or the bike is running? This question comes as a lesson learnt having left them on and drained the batter while away from home - school boy error on my part.

    Any advice welcome

    Cheers
