  1. What lights did you get? I'm definitely planning on some driving lights up front to improve my visibility. Don't ride much at night but not a fan of the little headlights. Denali and Clearwater are great but very $$$... any other suggestions? Thanks!
  2. Today I installed my new Madstad 24" windshield, will have to try some different position settings to see what works best. Looking forward to it after all the good feedback I've heard on that product. I did not install the 2 side winglets, figured I try it without first and see if they are needed. Just curious, for other Madstad users, have you found the winglets useful? Also swapped out the cigarette lighter style auxiliary DC jack for a Yamaha part that provides 2 USB jacks instead. Very nice unit, but very fiddly to get the wiring taken care of since there is so little room to work there, but it all worked out in the end. Also installed an extra set of wires from the aux connection to run a small DVM that I'll be sticking below the dash, just to monitor battery voltage. I'm surprised he T9 does not include that on the display. The personalization process continues! šŸ™‚
  3. FINALLY got in a nice ride on my new '22 GT! Bought it a week ago but the weather has been so cold and rainy it was tough to get out. Perfect Spring weather today in CT, even stopped at the beach briefly... Working thru my upgrade list... installed Grip Puppies, Fuzeblock, front Fenda Extenda, RAM phone mount, garage door opener button, and a pigtail for the battery charger. I have SW-Motech crash bars and tank bag on order, once the bars are on I can install aux lights and dual highway blaster horns. And a 24" Madstad shield will be on order soon. For now I need to put lots of miles on it and get myself 'dialed in'. After 14 years on the C14 it feels SO different! Good, but just so very different. I was 'one with the bike' on the C14, not there yet on the Tracer, but some miles will cure that! šŸ™‚
  4. Thanks for the welcome motochick! I bought my 2010 C14 new as well, back in the day... I'm already working thru all the forum topics and contemplating what mods and farkles I may want to do on the Tracer, as I'm sure you are doing too! šŸ™‚ Also, love your track day profile pic... I have a few of those as well...
  5. Thanks for the welcome lather! Yes, it looks like we have very similar biking histories. I will miss the shaft drive and TPMS and the awesome power of the C14 as well, but it's time to move on and I'm expecting the T9 to provide some fun. I'll look into the Tutoro - I haven't had to do chain maintenance for 14 years, so some help on that would be a good addition.
  6. Hey Robzilla, Thanks for the welcome, I didn't expect to find other COGgers here! Mine is a 2010, and heavily farkled as well (that's half he fun!). And I will miss the shaft drive and TPMS and that amazing motor, but it was time for a change... I was thinking the other day that I need to buy some chain lube for he first time in 14 years šŸ˜ž I was planning to sell it privately, as I assumed the dealer would not want such an old bike, but they offered a reasonable amount in trade so I just made it easy for myself and did the trade.
  7. Hi all, Iā€™m a newbie to this site from Waterford, CT. Just picked up a new (leftover) 2022 Tracer 9 GT that Iā€™m looking forward to getting very familiar with. Iā€™m a retired engineer, been riding for 55 years, started out riding Yamaha enduro dirt bikes, then several Honda street bikes, settled on the Honda VFR and rode a couple of those for 18 years. Wanted something bigger and more comfortable, so moved to a Kawasaki Concours 1400 for the last 14 years. The C14 is an amazing bike (even did a few track days on it!) but as I get older, I was getting tired of the 675-pound weight. So, the circle is complete ā€“ Iā€™m back to the Yamaha family on a much lighter and hopefully more fun Tracer. I look forward to learning from the wisdom of this group, and will help out whenever I can. Out with the old and in with the new!
