Finally replaced the clutch cable with the updated version.. mine never showed any signs of fatigue, fraying, or excessive stretching, but I have a 600 mile ride coming up and didn't want to find out it was failing when I was out of state.
I also installed the Gilles Tooling axle blocks/adjusters since the drive chain slack needed to be adjusted anyway. I used the Motion Pro chain alignment tool to line up the sprockets (right side adjuster is about 4mm further forward on adjuster marks than left)... but it seems like I'm getting a lot more chain noise from the front sprocket... could just be in my head since I test rode it around my neighborhood with no helmet or maybe because the chain now has proper tension on it? … and by "proper tension" I'm not talking about what the book says. Seems to ride straight, no wobbles, no swaying, turn in seems normal. What should I look for to determine if my rear wheel /chain is out of alignment?
That tool is pretty nifty. If it shows you’re lined up, I wouldn’t worry about it. I’ve been using it the last 50k miles on various bikes, and it hasn’t been wrong yet. Except that one time I left it on the sprocket. Then things went wrong.

Got the recall done. Ticking seems to have gone away, so I’ll ride it for a few weeks to see if it does seem better (I guess just by sound) and maybe have it checked at the 24k service.

Rode the twisty route to work this morning. Hopefully get some twisties in on the way home too.
Update: I got some twisties in on the way home. Weeds looked long, so I clipped some off with my handle bars
Finally, a practical use for the hand gaurds ?

I'm an A320 FO at AA. I'm currently riding a 2015 V-Strom 650 but planning to swap out for an FJ-09 ASAP so that's why I'm on this forum.
Doooo it.
On the pilot note, I had 14 hours in a Cessna 152 in high school. Does that count? ?

Noticed a ticking that seems to have developed on the right side the last couple day. Can only hear it at idle and very low speed, but I see I now have a recall for the CCT, so I guess I'll give that a shot. Bike is a 16 with 22k miles on it now. Maybe I should just have them do the whole 24k service at the same time...

I went with an undampened sprocket. Can’t say I’ve noticed any difference.

This is the new Shad pinlock tank bag. Just got it the other day. It's 10L not too big, not too small.
This is a chinese rear cover I thought looked cool. Not sure how well it works yet. Found it on Aliexpress.
Ktech rear shock. Ordered it about 1 inch shorter to drop the bike down a bit. Great improvement.
Nice. I’m really wanting one of those Shad bags. Got a Givi recently and it’s been very underwhelming. How is the clearance with the tank trim?

Another vote for DID. I got 525 VX for my recent replacement. First chain I've replaced on the FJ, but I've used DID on past bikes, and usually get 17-20k out of them.
Update: 15.3k miles later, and I've got a few tight spots and torn rings. There was some extended riding in the rain a few weeks ago that probably contributed to the early demise, but I was hoping for more.

Try filling it. It could just be the way it sat in the delivery packaging and once it is full it will straighten up?
Revzilla has already stuck a new one in the mail. Looking at the seems it's definitely misaligned, not just compressed. If the new one isn't any better I'll just redrill the plate on the bottom of the bag.

Received a GIVI XS307 tank bag from Revzilla. Pretty nice bag, but it doesn't seem to line up straight, and that bothers me more than it maybe should. Probably going back.
I have the same bag and it is cocked just like yours. It bothered me at first but have just lived with for over two years now.
At this point I’m thinking I can just redrill and tap the panel on the bottom of the bag to keep me from twitching. I really want to like it, but I know after riding for ten hours that would drive me clinically bonkers.

I tried adjusting the ring on the bottom, but no dice. I talked to the Revzilla people, and they're going to try and warranty it for me, which if yours is on straight I'd be pretty happy about that. I really like the size of the bag.I’ve got that bag. Mine line up straight. You have some adjustment on the bottom. See if the holes in the brackets are straight.

New chain and sprockets. ~18000 miles on the clock. Probably could have gotten a little more out of the chain if I hadn't left my alignment tool on the rear sprocket and fragged the chain seals last time I adjusted it. Oops.
DID 525VX Xring and Vortex steel front and rear sprockets. Reused the nut on the front sprocket with no problem.

Kinda want to remove my medium V-stream now...

Those look really good.. also really like that tail pack you have. Which one is that?Add T-Rex "Winglets" and other case and axle sliders. Really need the extra down force so I can use the full brutal triple power to get by Rossi and Vinales befor the next corner. Good thing the FJ is banned on the GP curcuit; it would destroy the competition....
Looks like the SW Motech Jetpack. I've got one as well, and it's a great bag.

Lame. Hope they work with you.

That's a nice looking hover bike

Installed the updated clutch cable, and the additional 12v outlet.

FedEx showed up with my SW-Motech skid plate that I ordered based on the successful test by @bbb . Pleasantly painless install; maybe 20 minutes. While I was waiting for that to show up, gave the bike it's weekly wash, chain service, check over, and tried out the Motion Pro V3 cable luber, since my updated cable still hasn't arrived. Niftly little unit.

Added a brake/clutch mount RAM X-Grip. Attached to the V-Stream bracket. Didn't require any modification beyond trimming down the u-bolt threads. I just bottomed the nuts on it, cut off the excess, and then mounted to the wind screen bracket with the included spring washers and loctite after adding a little black spray paint to cover the cut surfaces.

Well, I tried to leave a hint about posting actual links so others can get the same deal. Pics are pretty and all, but where did you get these items?
I worship at the alter of Revzilla.

Man, I really just want cruise control. I wouldn't mind losing the speed limiter, but I'm actually amatuer enough to be happy with the performance as is.

Put on the Vstream sport touring shield yesterday. Definitely less wind on me. Still noisy (dual sport hemet, so...) and still plenty of bugs to the face, but it is a more comfortable ride.
What did you do to your FJ-tracer-gt today?
