Took the (10mm) plunge! Excited to try it out on the Monday commute. Also swapped my Motodynamic taillight with a warranty replacement. The unit I got this summer ended up with moisture trapped in it, so they sent me a replacement. Just gave it a quick rinse and it looks to be moisture free, so kudos to those guys.

I'd love to hear your impressions of the pegs. I'm looking for new ones, and those caught my eye (in blue, of course).Installed Puig footpegs. Found the adapters for $5 on amazon Warehouse and then got the footpegs for about $60 from ebay.
Anyone knows why Yamaha rivets the left peg instead of using a cotter-pin?

Mine usually stays at full untill 85-90 miles, 100 if I’m being good. It does start to drop a lot faster after that.

Removed and mailed my ecu, installed new air filter and now thinking about removing that foam under the gas tank. Does it really change something?
I removed the foam when I did the flash, but can’t say I noticed anything related to the foam. Everything was so different after the flash though, it’d be impossible for an amature like me to tell ?

I just hit my speed limiter with zero, and I mean zero shake. Felt like my ZZR 600/ F3 and less like a touring bike. Dropping the front end 15mm was huge. Really planted now with all the changes I have made.
Guess I know what I’m doing this weekend

I just rolled the bars in the mounts (towards me) until I minimized the full lock clearance. It's not too drastic of an angle, and I've still got about a half inch of clearance. Of course that means the controls are back towards me after moving the bars forward.
Can you elaborate a bit? I have the risers rotated to the forward position, but still appear to have about an inch of clearance before the stock bars contact anything. I’m thinking about machining an extra pair of stock risers to take about 3/4” off the bottom, to get the bars as low as I can without inference. I’m fine with the bend of the stock bars, just want the whole setup a bit lower.Yesterday I... rotated the handlebar risers to the forward position. Enjoying the new bar position as well. Moved forward, and dropped them as low as possible while still clearing the tank trim.
Full lock, left and right

I may give that a try the next time I've got panels off.Yesterday I did the APS adjustment, and rotated the handlebar risers to the forward position. Old APS numbers were 17/101 and 16/100. New numbers are 14/98 and 13/97. It definitely had an impact. It wasn't a magic bullet, but I ride A mode exclusively, so STD is probably perfect now. I'm not complaining; between the 2WDW flash and the APS adjustment, A mode is an absolute riot. @piotrek has a great walkthrough on doing it here
You can drop the numbers even further if you wish, I originally dropped mine to 14, a few days later I dropped further to 12.

Re-torqued the front sprocket nut. Lubing my chain this morning it sounded loose. It was. ?
I suppose that’s what I get for reusing the nut and staking it poorly.

Try it without luggage. If I’ve got cases on my bike and let go of the bars when coming up to a light, there’s a slight shake. Doesn’t happen without the cases.
-
It was way high. I usually run it around 34psi in town and for fun, and bump it up to 38 when touring with luggage. Elevation change apparently pushed it to 43 though, and there was some extended time at high speed in a straight line. It might be good to go farther, but it has a bunch of tiny tears across the center that make me nervous. Second one of these tires I’ve seen do that, so I think I’ll try something else.
Eh, I reckon he has a fair bit left on there. Here's a pick of mine after I changed them, I dug in to see how much was left until the cords... these carried me 13k miles. Still looked like a decent bit of rubber left in the middleGot yer monies worth out of that tire for sure!
How much psi you got in those tires? Maybe lower the pressure a bit I bet you can get many more miles out of those tires.Pulled off the rear wheel after a 2200 mile trip. I’m not an expert, but I think this one’s done. Gonna get some new rubber before the return journey.

I’m curious how people even notice the buzzing with the distractions provided by the air hammer wind screen and the seat/wooden plank.
I love my bike, I just can’t imagine the buzzing being an actual complaint compared to those.

Just installed my flashed ECU from 2 Wheel Dyno Works. Great mod, I highly recommend it. Bike is stock except for some shorty levers. While my bike was apart I took advantage of this and checked my valve clearance. All within tolerance. I only have 1200 miles on it but thought I would check how the factory did. All good. Next is to change over to synthetic oil. Still on the list is a radiator guard and some luggage when I travel. Keep the rubber side down!
The flash is an absolute riot; you’re going to love it. I just about pooped myself the first time I took it through the canyons and discovered the excitement of reduced engine braking. ?
-
Dropped the bike off for the 24k mile service, and told them to go ahead and do the valves as well. Guess I just gotta sit on the beach for today.

Now with 100% more Motodynamics! Flush mount front, integrated tail light, and fender eliminator. Other recent changes include Puig adjustable/folding levers, Rizoma bar ends, and VStream sport shield (courtesy of @jreinhardt). Apparently, just having the integrated tail light is illegal, so I might add some indicators on the side of the plate. Also took off the Givi top rack, as I haven’t been using it this summer. Between that and the fender I think I dropped 15 lbs.

I rode to work today. First time riding with the new levers. Brake lever feels great. Clutch lever feels like shet. However, I did apply some silicon lubricant to the brake lever but forgot on the clutch lever. I'll probably pull the clutch lever back off and apply some silicon to see if that improves feel.
Replaced mine recently and used lithium grease on the pins per the instructions (Puig). Buttery smooth pull.

Does it just pull off or do you have to get a bit more physical with it? Notice any difference from doing it?...removed the piece of foam off the front of the tank bottom...
It came off in one piece for me, just had to work it a bit. It was also pretty filthy, so I wonder if it doesn’t do double duty as a pre-filter.
Haven’t had a chance to ride it yet, and I’ll only be commuting until the weekend, the off to the mountains and I’ll see what this flash is all about. ?
-
Got the ECU back and reinstalled, removed the piece of foam off the front of the tank bottom, put the bike back together and didn't even have any spare parts! Also got some Puig adjustable/folding levers and bar ends. Levers are great, but the bar ends (for an FZ-09) don't thread in flush. I'll have to look at it closer in the morning.
-
Well in that case, I guess the foam is coming out
-
I did not, but everything is still on the operating table, so I could. Details? I don’t know what the foam is for, but is there an advantage to getting rid of it?did you also remove the foam under the gas tank? ? its a free mod

What did you do to your FJ-tracer-gt today?

I’m hoping so. They were quick to send me a replacement after I wasn’t able to dry it out. Almost like it had a bad seal around the lense, letting in moisture when it was cold and sealing it in when warm.
