My 900 GT has a small amount of buzzing vibration.  It is not a deal breaker, I rode it before I bought it, noticed it, decided it was OK, and went ahead with the purchase.  No regrets. 
Like others here, I have had many other bikes with various amounts of vibrations.  Surprisingly, the worst vibrating ones were:  Harley Sporster, Yamaha SR500 single, Honda CB 500 four.  The smoothest I ever had was a BMW K1200 RS with a rubber mounted 4 cylinder.  Everything else in between vibrated to some amount that was ok.
 
I had an FJR ten years ago that buzzed annoyingly at 5000 rpm when new but smoothed out after 10,000 miles.  I hope this 900 GT also gets better with age.

I had an XSR 900 before, sharing the same CP3 engine. It smoothed out a bit after 8000km. I hope the GT does the same

Like koth442 I have owned and driven lots of big V2 bikes, and also inline 4, and never had any trouble with vibration/buzzing.
 
Before the Tracer goo GT I had the XSR 900 and that bike vibrated in such a way that my hands (most the right hand) fell asleep after driving for 30-45 minutes.
The vibration starts at around 4500-5000 rpm. Meaning highway/autobahn was the worst! I never had problems on other places, it was only autobahn that made my hands numb!
On the XSR 900 it was so bad that the mirrors became useless - couldn't see if the lights in the mirror was 1 or 8 cars! Looked like the mirrors were mounted on an electric sander...
 
 
The Trader goo GT is not so bad. It has cruise control and that lets me hold very light on the handle bar. Haven't had sleeping/numb hands on this bike yet, and I have just come back from a 4500km trip with 2000 of those km being on the autobahn. No problems with the vibrations.. But they can be felt in the foot pegs (I have FJR1300 rubberized footpegs) and handlebar. The mirrors are useful, but the right mirror is still a bit shakey. But both can be used!

I don't think it's that big of a problem. I don't really move my feet that much, and haven't hit the rear sets yet. Driven about 5555km right now.
 
If you want to, you can just remove the rear sets and have a new bracket made.

Many thanks for posting you initial thoughts on the MRA screen, and especially the photo showing the size difference. 
Apologies if I've missed it in an earlier post but what height are you? I'm short, so would be interested to know your height (probably taller than me at 5'7") and if so if you 'scootch down' to my height does it improve the wind buffeting situation?

By the way, the varioscreen is quite useless. I haven't found a setting where I feel like it works. I drive with it in low/flat setting now and it seems to work better. Maybe it's better than riding without one but who knows.. I'm not going to take it off just to see

I just received my MRA touring screen!

 
As you can see it's just slightly wider and only a little bit taller than the original one.
 
The handlebar can still be turned completely to both sides without the handguard hitting the screen.
 
The MRA screen has another form than the original one. Where the Yamaha is flat like a board, the MRA has a curve to it.
 
I have only ridden about 100km with the screen but so far it's better than the one from Yamaha. I have ridden on 50/80/110/130 km per hour roads and the low setting for the screen fits fine up till 110km/h, and the tall one makes 130km/h more tolerable.
 
The buffering do not appear to be a problem any more. The wind still hits my upper shoulders and face (depending on low/high setting) but I find it tolerable now. Before it would be so loud I would have ringing ears after a drive. I use earplugs all the time due to tinnitus. I don't want to make it any worse.
 
I think that I still want to try a small racing screen, maybe from PUIG.. but for now, and for the upcoming trips, the MRA will suffice.

I had a couple of Metzeler Roadtec 01 on my XSR900 - and what a tire! Really good overall! Great confidence in dry riding, and even more in wet riding conditions. Was really impressed by that tire!
 
I chose to have the Bridgestone T31 installed on my GT, just to try them. So far, after 1100km, they're quite good! Haven't tried them in rain yet, because it just doesn't rain anymore.

I agree with the original one being noisy and buffeting so much. And the up/down function almost does nothing. I tested it yesterday. Difference from low to high is only a couple of inches. So instead of hitting middle of helmet visor, it hits top of visor.
