That is fantastic!  Saw where you originally though maybe 1/2 year till you walked so you are ahead of schedule!

Thanks, but  I dont think I understood them really and just relayed bad info. Lol

So I will be healed enough to be off disability and physical therapy in 6 months from surgery. But wont be full recovery ever. Not sure the percentage, but over 80.

Right now im walking with a walker. Haven't used my wheelchair since new year. Will be using a cane here soon.

  3. Glad you ok. The amount of accidents have been increasing in the USA. I was the only surviving person in the state of indiana the week of my accident there were little over 1 a day.

Insurance is paying well for motorcycles right now. But fixing rates are high. The price they shot back to keep my bike after my accident was silly. More than my full size v8 truck when i got hit and it was totaled. Lol.

Glad you got the bike home and not towed away too. In any accident always take the vechile back to your residence if you have the space. Works out monetarily for you always.

  4. Unfortunately this isnt the first time in a hospital with an injurie. I have done rehab for other broken parts. But this is by far the worst injurie I have had.

I learned to hold my ground with doc's and cranky nusres when I took care of my mother before she past away.

I got a second opinion on my back last year, which I think was the right way to go fixing it.

One thing that surprised me, was all the staff I have met at the 2 hospitals. Because thay all said thank you for wearing gear.

Sorry if this doesnt make sense, falling alseep when typing.

Wife's friend told her to keep me off the bike. And the wife responded "yeah right, he will be on one next summer."

  5. Well I had my first bad wreck in 18 years of riding. I'm laying in the hospital as it type this on my second night here and will be for almost a week with a second surgery on Monday. Was wearing gear, expect for pants as I got to fat for them. so I got a rash on my left knee. and a chipped knee cap.

But I have a smashed pelvis bone. I ripped the handle bars with the triple clamp off the bike with my pelvis. guy pulled out in front of me. I was able to swerve to the rear drivers door and not hit the drivers door, but that was it. he was about 40 ft in front of me when he pulled out. flew the air with a flip and slid.
I will be out for 6 months or maybe more.

Not only is my dream motorcycle destroyed, my ability to walk for 1/2 a year too. I have been shooting a dozen arrows everyday since march to get ready for deer season today. Which I wont be able to do either.

But Im alive and I didnit bleed to death like alot of fractured pelvis ppl do. my wife is handling better than I thought.
I work commercial construction, looks like a good time to find a new career to work from home.

My dad got the fj09 from the wrecker yard yesterday. Going to take it my house this weekend for me.

Looking at the forks, I must have slowed down more than I hought. Was only going 45-50mph.

  6. If you have bad surfaces on a regular. The Pirelli scorpion trail 2 have been outstanding tires.

Drove through 4.5inch water crossings ( flooded roads) when I got caught in a thunderstorm. No issues at 35mph.

Handles gravel well. 45mph b mode 3rd gear all day.

They are dual compound. Only had them on in the summer so far. Haven't had an issue with loss of traction.

Better than the michelen road 4. Never been on the road 5s.

It would be very funny if you had a doll strapped in and had it mounted backwards. Drivers could see it as you overtook them 😁 You’d probably get pulled over though.

I had exactly the same thought...  Kind of a missed opportunity.

Its still not too late.  Monday morning, weaving in and out of traffic during the morning commute...?  Break up the monotony.

I thought about it.  Didn't feel like stuffing a babydoll in the tank bag for nearly 4.5hrs I was on the bike total. And it was 96° outside. To hot humid for those kinda shenanigans. I start at 5am right now. Everyone wouldn't be out to see it.
