Needles to say that this is an already incredible machine. Very reputable model from Yamaha that is becoming very popular.

I bought it from the first owner with only 2400 KM on it ! I am taking very good care of the bike and I had no intention to sell it until I found a good GS that I couldn’t resist :)

Here is a list of Add ons that I have on the bike:

Sargent Seat ROAD 5 MICHLIEN Tires with less than 1000 KM !! Puig Windscreen Handguards lights ( with Turn Signals) Additional AUX lights that are connected on a relay and additional switch Front beak ( Cosmetic Only ) Painted in RED color to match the bike Kickstand support SW MOTECH Skid Plate ENGINE BARS with 2 Additional sliders GIVI 37 L Top Box with AUX lights ( connected to running lights, brakes and Turn Signals). OEM Hard Cases with black reflective Decals with Yamaha Logo ( Rear and Sides ) Battery Tender connection Heater gear connector R&G Radiator grill protection. R&G handlebar support /ENDs OXFORD heated grips Windscreen RAM mount + GPS mount + GPS NUVI 265 connected directly w relay. Additional USB installed on the right side of the screen connected directly w relay..

$7000 with no accessories or $8000 with everything. I already paid way more than this to get the bike to the current shape and mods. Sargent seat, Hard cases and tires alone are well over $3K of investment.

This is a very good bike that I enjoyed and I am not in rush to sell. I will wait for the right buyer. Call or text , Bike is in my garage, come check it out anytime.

    Thank you

This Picture has convinced me to beak my Red FJ, Just curious how you got it in red? Vinyl? Or Paint? And how did you manage to match the “Lava Red” color.

I took it to a regular Auto body shop. They ordered the color. It's sanded and painted not vinyl. It looks like it was originally there not an after market.

For sure.  A heated seat is wholly unnecessary, but I bet it feels awesome.  I know I don't need heated seats in a car either, but I love them there too.

I have riding over pants that aren't actually insulated but have a waterproof liner.  It goes on the outside, armoured mesh inside, normal jeans underneath. That's always enough for my lower body and in previous years I've actually just wore jeans, maybe with long johns in colder temps.  These were more a step for safety than anything, but they do keep my legs a fair bit warmer for keeping the wind off.

Heated jackets or vests are key though, and not just in the winter.  Going on a long trip through the mountains?  Particularly in the edge seasons, mornings and evenings can be cold.

I'd argue you only really need to heat your core and your hands.  Everything else ends up fine except in extreme circumstances.  But having that heat on your core is a *wonderful* thing.

Also, the heated helmet is pure luxury... Well, and utility: breath freezing on the inside of your visor can be very problematic. But thats another extreme circumstance most don't need to deal with.

I can confirm that the heated seat is unnecessary, but I wanted to let you know that it makes a difference. I have heated grips, and they are still not enough. My thumb gets too cold. Heated gloves are really awesome. I am using the new Alpinestars Andes 2 as my winter riding jacket and I didn't need to add a heated vest........yet :)

I am looking for a heated socks though. I feel the air flow is making my feet cold.

I totally agree that when you use the heated gear, you are warm enough & you feel better than even in your car. It makes the difference in your reaction time and your riding in general.

  4. Got ready for the cold weather.

Installed the gears heated seat liner on top of my sargent seat and dual controler to control the seat and my gloves separately.

Had the perfect ride through the cold today.

I know the seat looks ugly with this on top of it but I am planning to use it with my new custom seat and I didn't want to mess up the sargent seat.

Anyways, I don't see it while riding , lol. 😜

Had oil, filter, coolant, brake fluid all changed. Had my SW Motech skid plate powder coated (wrinkle black) and installed. Didn’t really like the look of the aluminum. Looked out of place IMO!

Oh, and I ordered a Sargeant seat......

My bike looks very close to yours. A tip, I drilled a hole in the skid plate to allow me change oil without removing the plate next time. I think they should have done it by design.

I am not sure if you will like that but I painted the beak red to match the rest of the bike.

My early-October 4500km circuit took me through some moderately wet weather and over a few extensive road works.  Despite a rudimentary DIY front fender-extender the spaghetti-like set of zorst header pipes got pretty grubby: time to clean 'em up a bit.

This is a job where a hoist would be worth its weight in gold, as scrambling around on the garage floor is a bit tough on my ageing bod and joints, but I achieved some improvement.   A pot-scourer dipped in kerosene took off most of the road-tar deposits, and I followed that up by polishing the pipes with AUTOSOL.   This is an automotive polish made in Germany and recommended by BMW, therefore being (a) very effective and (b) very expensive.   But it works.

The headers certainly didn't come up like new, but look better, and my conscience is salved and pride restored!   A little more work on them will improve things further, so that's on the weekend job-list.

you can see my pics and other members' pics too here. you will also find some other ways in this thread to clean the tubes but I used AUTOSOL too.
