Ok. I'm guessing you painted it in situ? I am also considering the same. Perhaps you could give us an update on how it holds up against the heat from the exhaust.

I painted it before I fitted it. Need to touch up the red that can be seen. Used Yamaha touch-up paint, went for a 150 mile run and the paint was fine.

  2. Fitted my Scorpion Serket Taper stainless end can today on my G.T.  Love the sound, but the engine trouble warning light (as described in handbook),is now on permanently. Has anybody who has fitted a Scorpion on their Tracer 900/GT,encountered this problem, and if so, how did you fix it. I suspect it is to do with the O2 sensor, but not sure what to do.

    Thanks,

    Kenny.

  3. I have been searching for a colour code, and some touch-up paint for my GT. Contacted Japarts in the Netherlands, who contacted Yamaha.

Yamaha got back to them, with this code for Phantom Blue - MDPBM1.

I can confirm that this is the correct code,as I received touch-up paint today.

    Available from www.japarts.nl

    Cheers,

    Kenny.

  4. Hi,

I want to fit LED indicators to my 900 GT,to replace the ugly OEM ones. I would like 'flowing' light style, like Audi's have.

Has anybody sourced and fitted such Indicators, and recommend any? A few cheap ones on Amazon/eBay,but don't know how good they would be. 12oClockLabs have nice ones, but expensive.

    Can  anybody help me out?

    cheers,  Kenny.

Please do not use any form of hard scraper to remove the tank-top sticker - it's put on with Kryptonite.   On an earlier Tracer I found the best way to remove the sticker was to simply heat it up with a hair-dryer, then scrape away with a thumb-nail, the sticker coming off in small bits.   Tedious work, but while it ruins the thumb-nail (which will re-grow) it avoids ruining the tank, which would not!

Job done.👍🏻 Pulled decal off slowly while heating with hairdryer. Some adhesive left on tank, but after using goo-gone several times and finishing off with matte paint polish/cleaner,there is no sign of any decal being there and matte paint looks perfect. Very happy with result.🙂 Thanks for all advice.
