I think it would be an overkill. I had c.f. wrap on trhe hood of my car for 4 years when I sold it. Wos looking like in the firts day. I waxed it from time to time. If you want to go one step up you could try ceramic coating

What would be the weight difference?

Oh boy, I just passed 4.5k and the oem tires rapidly loosing it. Getting quite a rumble in the steering. Fair amount of tread left, but the rear is pretty square.
Same here! Almost 7000km. It is my firs bike so I ride with caution

I made my own phone mount. I is very solid, no vibrations at all.

I wanted to adjust the rear shock an I noticed I had one more step in preload. But after this last "full" step is the very last one that look like a smaller step. Is this intended to be used or....?

Just the typical questions.
Take a look at my bike!
You will also find my impression about the screen. I think it is a good screen, effective and good looking. I can ride in the rain or cold weather with no problems at all. For me it feels just a bit to short so I get wind noise on top of the helmet but with the deflector and the saddle in the lower position it's better than before.

Curious to know if anyone has tried the Yamaha Tracer 900 touring windshield yet?
It has an interesting shape to it on the sides. Not sure if it's for hand guard clearance
or wind deflection.

I have it. What do you want to know about it?

My plan is to paint in this white colour the plastict arround the headlight and the front wheel mudguard. This way thea bike will be white in the front, gray in the middle and black at the rear

Have you brought the white panel to a paint shop? A lot of them have a photo scanner (I don't know the exact name) to 'read' the color and the computer can formulate a match.
They are located 5 hours from me and I don't know others wit a spectrophotometer closer to me 😕
I can send them the side panel but I will be stranded a week or two. This is the plan B for after the season ends...

I want to paint some parts of the motorcycle in the same white colour as the side panels.
The colour code is: Bluish white pearl 1 (BWP1 3642)
I was in contact with a big paint shop which helped me before with the bluish gray but they don't have de recipe for the white one.
For me it looks like a metalic paint but the name sugest a pearl paint...
Do you have it? Or do you know how can I get it?

Resurecting this topic to ask if anyone tried fitting the Shad 3P system on a 2019/2020 Tracer 900/GT?
It is mentioned in the user instructions that you need to cut the 2 lateral plastic "wings" from the Yamaha sidecases original sidecases plastic mount (that do have a role of supporting the undertail plastic plate in place) with a rotary cutting tool (Dremel).
Also, it seems like you need to replace the Yamaha original metal plates behind the OEM sidecase mounts with Shad plates. It seems as I was sent two identical right hand plates, instead of a left and right one - with one L shape mount oriented outwards and the other one inwards (as it should be the case, apparently). Attaching the pic with the parts in question, as well as the left hand side one, with the L mount pointing onwards (when it should actually point inwards, but it's identical with the right hand side one).
No difference between 2018 and 2019/2020 right?
If in doubt, watch me mounting the top case rack. The side bracket are identical (I also have the 3P side cases )

I'm about 100kg whit all gear and my wife about 80kg. I have some mods that add over 15-18kg to the bike. So all in all some 200kg load. When I have my wife on the bike we ride at "normal" speed, never over 110km/h (70mph) and I don't lean more than necessary. The bike feels more planted, the suspension more comfortable, easyer to avoid jerkiness in the throttle or when shifting.
I never had boxes on the bike so I don't know how it would be with 30kg more but I think it would work if you don need to ride fast or sporty...
I don't thint that if Yamaha recommend 180kg max payload the bike will brake in half if you load it with 50kg more. And the pressurue on the front wheel will increase but not as mych as on the rear wheel so no fear for the "death wobble"

Took a nice 250 mile ride Saturday and helped a friend get his Ninja 650 past the break-in mileage.
Grabbed a photo at work with a coworker's Yamaha Raider. Motorcycles get premium parking spots.
It's raining now and for the next 2 days, so I'm taking the opportunity to wash all of my textile jackets. They were getting pretty grimy.
Hello!
What screen is that?
-
The Tracer vibrate a litle bit at higher rpm but you don't need to be in that rpm range if you don't want to. The Tracer is ok even at lower rpm, something i like big times!
You will get a bit more noise and wind on the Tracer han on the FJR.
The Tracer feels sportier and the position is better for the lower back.

I have it. I think it is nice. The brackets have 2 skrews so you can use one hole to align the other hole. It is not super easy but you don't have to remove it more than one-two times per year.

I think car drivers who state "I haven't seen the motorcyclist coming" they daydreams while they drive so they wouldn't be able to see a train coming. Wearing colorful gear like this won't save us...

No vibrations at all during cruising. At some higher rpm under acceleration you can fell some vibrations but not disturbing at all.
Get the Yamaha touring screen.
You are not very heavy so no problem with the suspension. If you want to take a pilion and panniers+topbox....ya...it can be too much.
