Let's say some jackass decided to change lanes into you and send you ass over teakettle and essentially destroy your Tracer beyond reasonable hope of repair. What would you replace your bike with?Ā

I've done two years on the Tracer and it's a great bike for what it is, but I'm ready for something else.Ā

    I'm thinking Suzuki:Ā https://www.suzuki.ca/product/2023-gsx-s1000gt/

I have a DRZ for dirt fun and am looking for a street-oriented touring bike that carries a passenger and luggage wellĀ  (unlike the Tracer). The GSX seems to tick the boxes. Or maybe a used BMW S1000XR?Ā  I lust for that bike. What else?

My Tracer is F-ed, Likely a write-off. Not happy but ready to move on.Ā

    Ok new answerā€¦this bikešŸ˜„!

  2. Iā€™d get a 60th Anniversary R7 and do track days only, give up the crazy streets. I just really like the looks of the white/red gold wheels!

I already passed on the first one at my dealer, then another new one, then a perfect used one with 500 miles.
Thatā€™s what Iā€™d do to the dismay of my wife, sheā€™d rather I didnā€™t ride at all - such a fun busteršŸ˜’!

My Tracer 9 GT has been at the dealer for 3 weeks. They told me the ECU failed and the have ordered a new one.

Anyone else have this happen? My Tracer was running fine, confused how the ECU could fail.

Oh that really bites, could be a coincidence-hopefully-but theyā€™ll fix it thatā€™s the good part. Itā€™s just too bad for the delay.

I need to make an appointment for my latest recalls, pray they go smoothly. Think Iā€™ll remove the bodywork to expose the O2 sensor connector for the Tech, as a former tech I wish they would just let me do it. Gotta use them for the reflash thoā€¦

I am considering having the ECU flashed.Ā  Not for any performance gain but to smooth out power delivery, eliminate the fuel cut, and have the fan come on at lower temps.Ā

Can someone point me to a guide for fairing removal to gain access to the ECU?Ā  I don't know where the ECU is located on the Tracer 9 GT but I assume under the tank.Ā  thanks

I bought the factory service manual for guidance and can tell you itā€™s a PIA, just like anytime you do something the first time. Lots of push rivets holding parts on, keep track of them. And the thinner side panels at back of the tank have to slide off slots, not pull off straight, youā€™ll see.

The ECU is under the tank as mentioned, good luck!

Hi did you ever find a solution? My front left signal has been pulled out of place a couple times now while parked

    Ā

A nice after market solution or a different, more reasonably priced OEM part?

My left front turn signal has popped out a few times just brushing by it in my crowded garage. Popped it back in but not completely and fell out easily. There must be some easy special order of assembly that escapes me. I finally took the time to try several ways, the best was to fully lubricate it with silicone spray and carefully, deliberately worm it in correctly. They are good in that they pop loose easily & not break, just a pain to re-fit correctly, and they evidently donā€™t hold up to bird strikes lol!

    SmokamotoĀ

what year is your bike ? Your gauges look similar to mine on the newer split screen . I cannot get my bike to lift up unless I am really trying hard in 1 gear .Ā
Iā€™m wondering if itā€™s becusze the newer models have that 2 inch extra wheel base making it harder to lift .Ā
orā€¦ is my bike really out of tune due to the new exhaust I put on ?Ā
im waiting for the ecu to get reflashed next week .Ā

so does your newer model come ip on its own when your hammering it ? Or do you gotta clutch up to pick it up ?Ā
    thanks

2021 Tracer GT, stock engine & exhaust, had the factory recall re-flash done. In 1st gear it will power lift at willĀ šŸ˜.

How do I change the setting ? Is it the tc setting ? The one of three setting that you can scroll through on the left side ?Ā
Or is it something totally differsnf ?Ā

I believe itā€™s separate from traction control but lemme check the manual when I get home. Itā€™s been awhile since I messed with settings. Or you can check your manualšŸ§šŸ™‚?

I Ā remember something about the rear brake adjustment being the problem with someone on here when their CC was acting up.

That happened to me, I saw that the spring had come off so I hooked it back on and adjusted it too tight, just tight enough to cause an intermittent problem!

Can anyone using the yamaha genuine comfort seat recommend it ?

A search on them only brings up ones for resale. Makes me wonder if they're any good. After 2 hours riding on the original seat my butt is aching, literally, for a rest stop. Any opinions please.

I have about 200 miles on the comfort seat that I had to order from England since not available in the USA. It along with the seat slope mod definitely helped. I do recommend both!
