  1. The updates are what I expected the new model to have but it's not enough to chop mine in for the new one .
  2. The problem was wheel balancing .The wheels was on the correct sides and no not oe tyres but never had the issue before .I installed some dyna balancing beads and it's worked a treat although I was very sceptical at first .
  3. I probably have on the niken 2 sets of fronts and 3-4 rears a year changed 90% of our local fitters will not fit tyres that they haven't supplied .Due to local pricing many fitters have stopped supplying new tyres and just do part worns.I have found that I. Supply alone I've been saving £40. Per tyre as an average then £25. Per for to a loose wheel and some charge upwards of £35 per wheel ride in/ ride out ,so you can see the savings each time can be upwards of £200.It appears greed has got to the main dealers when it comes to tyre fitting .
  4. Just an update as I said I would add to the other wheel today .I had a 60 mile ride out through the mountains and can conclude that they have indeed worked for me .They have balanced the wheels when rolling ,it's much smoother .The screen no longer shakes itself to death at higher speeds .To that end I'm going to get a wheel changer and start doing my own again and installing beads Instead of weights .I will save money on the purchase of the tyres and the fitting and the balancing .win in my book
  5. Well I did install the dyna beads into the tyre that the weights was missing ,I was very sceptical but the difference is very very noticeable at all speeds .I am going to add them to the other wheel tomorrow just to see if it improves more .It's certainly better than the shop that did balance them .
  6. Hi all, after having new front tyres fitted and wheel weights going AWOL ,I decided to order some balancing beads mainly due to my dissatisfaction of the tyre installers lack of balancing skill in the first instance and then they went AWOL .Have any of you an r experience using these ? I'd be I interested in your views .
  7. Everything's secure its very strange ,I may just swap the screen out to see if that makes a difference.
  8. Evening all I've ment to ask this question ages ago ,do any of you notice your screens wobble from side to side a lot .I have the puig touring screen fitted and I've really noticed it shakes a lot .I can't seem to find a reason for it .I've just fitted new tyres wheels balanced professionally and it actually appears worse on the new rubber .There's a no real vibes coming through the bars etc .
  9. 8500 miles nsf tyre is now cupped badly so a new set of Michelin pr4 sc being fitted Friday .I'm not the type of rider who sees mega mileage from any tyres but the michelins on the front have been great .I'm still sticking with the Avon spirit st on the rear as it's a great match for the michelins. The Avon has proven to be imho better than the PR4 it replaced and certainly providing better mileage ,comfort whilst also not squaring off like most tyres I've used .
  10. Just an update on the pilot road 4,s on the front .We are at 7500 miles and in typical Michelin fashion they have just started to go off and ware in a weird way .There's tred left but from experience once they start to deform they were quickly so 500 miles more and I think they will need to be changed .On a positive note that's good mileage for me so I can't complain .The problem now is getting hold of some new ones due to supply issues .
  11. On standard gearing my average was around 47mpg hard riding 43mpg .The altered gearing is so much more fun but the economy has dropped a little .Regarding ecu flash contact Andy at Junction 33 ,he does have a face book page .He is a very knowledgeable and helpful chap .I have not had mine flashed yet because he is looking into answers to some questions I have posed .I also plan to have it done when I service mine next .He has a lot of very positive Yamaha experience just read his reviews .I know a chap with an older mt09 which ran awful and after he had his flashed it was like anew bike just so much better in every department .If your after outright power gains yes it can be done and the older motors on the mt09/tracer have seen 10hp with flash ,pipe decat etc .If it's stock you tend to get better torque mid range and throttle response and better mpg .This is also allowing for removal of some restrictions preset by Yamaha .
  12. Update it looks like the CC parameters can be adjusted etc when my ecu flash gets done this will fix the CC problem and I shall get the quick shifter settings adjusted at the same time .
  13. Regarding road speed to RPM,s after testing there's not much in it but obviously the parameters are set too close .
  14. I'm running 15/47 which I'm really enjoying so I will live without the CC until I have a resolve .I know when you flash the ecu you can adjust the cc settings .
  15. So the ride is much more involving and more fun and a big improvement over stock. The bike does not feel lacking at all .However in mode 1 you can get it feeling very light on the front if you are giving it the berries .Economy has dropped a little if your giving it a good clogging approx 42 mpg uk.Normal commute my mpg increased on average to around 49 mpg .On a longer run I averaged around 52mpg UK
