  1. Stopped raining this afternoon , I got in a 150 mile ride . I am happy with my suspension adjustments . I ran it over some hwy construction at 70 mph where there are speed bumps where they cut expansion joints out & filled with asphalt , they left the patch high since the whole slab will be ground down for paving . I would get a jolt but no bounce seams like the tires are staying on the pavement . I hit some corners hard for my ability , no problem no diving seams planted . Done some hard breaking & the bike stayed level . When I get my Corbon seat I will be all good . 😀
  2. Well I have looked at a lot of you tube & decided to try settings from a English GT owner that has quite a few miles on his 2019 Tracer . My first thought was to set everything up very soft , but changed my mind because of safety & tire wear problems . This is what I settled on . Fork tubes , 4 rings showing , both adjusting screws 6 turns out from hard . Back shock spring , 15 click tight , adjusting screw 5 click out from hard . Don't know when I can ride , raining here & rain all next week . đŸ˜ĸ
  3. I never had a bike before that was adjustable , except rear shock spring rate . From the book settings of Soft , Standard , & Hard I have mine set currently on Standard . The bike handles great , but a little hard on the tail bone . For all around riding 4 & 2 lane hwy + some twisty black tops , no track day riding , would I loose much in handling going to the soft settings ? I ride with no side bags & only a light soft tail bag . I am 200 lb. with riding gear .
  4. After all three of my seat pads failed to ease a sore tail bone on the stock seat , I ordered the Corbin seat last night . I had a Corbin on my MT07 & it was a great improvement . I would like to know how much height it adds In real life ? Since the 2020 GT is too tall stock . I am not sure of the lead time to get the seat , but at least I know there is help on the way . 😀
  5. At around 700 miles on my 2020 tracer I noticed my chain was a little over the spec loose . I learned from my MT 07 to lube the axle thread with some break free before trying to loosen the nut . What is with Yamaha over torquing that nut, it took a 3 ft. pipe on the end of a 1/2 breaker bar to break it loose . I have heard of others that did not lube the threads striping the thread !☚ī¸
  6. What I done was three standard 1/4" flat washers under each side of the back tank mount. Then a piece of .225 thick gasket rubber slotted to fit the plastic base where the front seat rubber contacts . I used super glue to hold the in place on top of the plastic base fame .
  7. I agree very small amount of air . I have even adjusted going down the road letting out a small amount of air. To much air will hurt you & you don't feel planted on the seat .
  8. I have made a few up grades on my 2020 900 GT . First was my version of the seat tilt mod , also put my Air Hawk seat pad on . Next was a bolt on side stand foot pad that made the bike set up a little & with a larger foot print . Next rubber covered foot pegs that are a little longer & not as slick . Today I installed a HeliBar adapter that brings the stock bars one inch higher & one inch farther back . I have not ridden yet with the pegs & bar adapter but on the center stand they feel great ! I can have some bend in my arms from any position on the seat, also standing on the pegs you don't feel you are going to fall on your head . This is a tall bike , I am 6 ft 1in , wear 34 X 34 Jeans .
  9. I must like the bike, I can't stop taking pic's of it . This is thousand hill's state park at Kirksvile, Mo.
  10. Hi everybody I am here from the MT 07 forum, since I traded for a 2020 GT . I loved the 07 , but got it in my head I would like to do some longer trips maybe ? I have taken the GT out twice for a total of 211 miles so I am just getting to know it . I found the bike very easy to ride easier than the 07 at low speed , very balanced . Also all that electronics is not as daunting as I thought . I will post a pic I took on today's ride if I can get to the right size ?
