  1. Seriously, I came from an HD Street Glide with the famous Harley shake and it didn’t bother my hands like this bike does. When I get done riding my hands are usually buzzing and tingly, and that’s with Grip Puppies. While I was out riding today, stretching my hands and such, I noticed that the “handguards” were vibrating quite a bit more than the bars themselves.

Has anyone removed the handguards, and did you find it made a difference? What size bar ends will fit? Any other solutions?

Anyone using a Touratech GPS mount and care to share their experience? I can't decide if it's worth the investment or not. I just mounted the Zumo on a ram mount attached to the Madstad bracket (picture attached). I tend to store it in a tank bag (brought with me) whenever I walk away from the bike. Think the Touratech mount would be worth it or be more of annoyance with an additional key to deal with?

Thanks and hope you all had a great weekend!

    What mount are you using?

  3. Anyone got a good source for a way to mount a Garmin Zumo XT to a MadStad?

Finally got my MadStad. (What an ordeal.) Order showed up and  it was for a Triumph Tiger. 😠 They sent me another and some of the hardware was wrong. 😡 Luckily I was able to find what I needed locally. Took it out for my first ride of the year today to test it out along with a new Corbin seat. 🥳 The MadStad definitely makes a difference. Get some “fluttering” but no buffeting thankfully. Think maybe I should have ordered a shorter shield instead of going with MadStad’s recommendation.

At any rate, is there a decent way to do a GPS mount above the instrument cluster with the MadStad?

  4. How about GPS mounting?

I bought one of those windscreen adjuster mounts off eBay. Changing out to a Madstad eliminates the OEM adjuster. I have a handlebar RAM mount but I like the GPS above the instrument cluster. When I contacted Madstad, they said the mount no longer comes with a provision for GPS mounting.

I really like my Madstad (FJ-09). I think it really is a unique design that reduces buffeting. I am 5"-9" and use their 22" shield with a deflector for extra control. I already had the deflector, so I installed it for good measure. I see over the shield, not through it. I have my stock adjuster at maximum extension, and the Madstad adjuster at minimum extension... with 1.5" still available to raise the shield if needed.

I’m just a few cm taller than you so it sounds like the 22” would be the way to go.

  6. Riding season is still a couple of months away here in South Dakota, but I'm planning ahead. After trying nearly every windscreen out there (and ignoring forum consensus) I think I'm ready to try a Madstad. I have no evidence but I think their more solid mounting system might be superior to stock as well.

At any rate, what height should I go with? I'm about 5' 11" with a 34" inseam. With most screens, I've found I prefer the lower position. I don't mind my helmet being out in the wind as long as it's clean, and I don't want to be looking through a windscreen. Now I know their guideline says to order 22", but do I?

Clegg78- Well i saw in your store that the kit is only compatible with the stock seat or Yamaha comfort seat. I still may order it and try throwing the stock seat back on temporarily. Will pull my stock seat out of storage tomorrow and compare them first to see how different my Bagster seat is at the front.

This kit works with the Bagster seat. The one I have that I'm selling, I test fit it last night just for the heck of it and it fits the same as the stock seat.
