I have just put a deposit down on a tracer, (Red or Grey), aint to fussed about colour choice like them both, waiting to see which they get in stock nxt week. (CMC Cannock).

I have a Tiger 1050 sport, and had a test ride on the Tracer & Tiger 800 XRx back to back, My opinion on the 2 bikes for what
its worth.

Tiger 800: feels under-powered after riding the Tracer, but the gearbox is superb, found toggling through the mode's and settings a real pain in the arse (and this is someone who's had an Explorer and Tiger sport and is familiar with the switchgear).
Brakes, again compared to the Tracer, front was no where near as sharp, back about the same as the Tracer.
Seat on the 800 (Comfort) but not as good as the Yamaha's, (Now this may seem odd, as the Tracer seat felt so hard when
I took her out, but within 15 minutes I had forgot about it and it was very supportive. A long tour would give the definitive
answer, but both bikes are very comfortable).

The Tracer felt like it was on steroids compared to the Tiger 800, faster, quicker steering, and so much fun. 8-) 8-) 8-)

Now if you want a touring (Adventure style bike go for the Tiger 800) if you want a bike you can tour on and also blast
around on when the mood takes you its the Tracer all day long, better be careful your licence may at risk!

Welcome aboard. This does not seem odd to me at all as I have had the very same experience. I did not like the seat when I first got it as it felt hard sitting on it, but after 100 miles I was not squirming to get off.

the big Tiger was on my list of bikes too.... I LOVE my Speed triple and that 1050 motor is nothing less than intoxicating. I can only imagine what it's like in an upright chassis.
Welcome aboard!!
