  1. @piotrekmight need to meet up with you to listen to it.. I'm thinking of getting one myself. Found this website ( SCORPION Serket Taper Slip-On Exhaust | Kimpex Canada Kimpex Canada | Slip-on Exhausts > Serket Taper Slip-On Exhaust... ) so I sent them an email to see if they have a fitting slip-on for the FJ. Fingers crossed, prices look great. EDIT: They are all sold out. They said they no longer sell them and they shouldn't be on the website anymore 😕
  2. Not really.. I've been running a shorty for almost 2 years now because the rest just push all the wind into my forehead. FJ owner nearby might be selling his parabellum screen, 26 in tall, and I'll try that out if he's willing to part with it.
  3. Interesting... might have to check this one out! Have you found buffeting to be an issue with smaller screens as well?
  4. @texscottydyeah I think Im in the exact same boat as you... that's why I run my shorty for touring (and 99% of other situations). My previous bike was the naked SV650 so I'll take a lots of clean, laminar air even over a small bit of turbulent air. I also ride with earplugs (surefire ep4s) but definitely found the buffeting actually pushed my head around, giving me a headache more than being just loud. Its too bad because the yamaha touring screen would be perfect if I was maybe and inch or two shorter. When I crouch down, you'd swear you were in a convertible... so nice and quiet!
  5. I bought my bike in Summer 2017 and the previous owner was gracious enough to include 3 windscreens with the bike... the OEM windscreen, the taller/wider Ermax windscreen and the Yamaha Touring Screen. We all know the OEM one is terrible, so I decided to chop it down a few inches and tint it a bit darker... this is the result (with hard cases and tail bag for touring). I have 2 tall windscreens, so why the hell am I running that tiny windscreen for touring you ask? Well, both the Ermax and the Touring windscreen have unbearable buffeting and turbulence. The Ermax is the worst at about 90 km/hr but not any better at 110-120 (highway cruising). The Touring windscreen completely sucks after 110 km/hr. They both seem to throw all the turbulent air at my eyebrow. Therefore, I'm reaching out to you tall guys in the community. What do you use? I think the answer here is 'suck it up, you're tall, no windscreen will help with touring' but I'm hoping someone can be my saving grace! I'd probably sell both windscreens and buy something that actually fits me considering they both sit on a shelf.
  6. Ontario owners, make sure you add yourself to the Member Map here: Hopefully we can get a meetup going for this upcoming summer!
  7. Sounds a touch high... I'm 26, single and paying $1200 for full coverage on my 2015. Maybe because your bike is slightly newer? Also my insurance dropped by about 30% when I moved from West GTA to the Kitchener-Waterloo area.
  8. Can't post the full PDF but this is what the Insurance broker sent me for Yamaha
  9. The difference here is that even though $200k is the minimum liability, I haven't seen any insurance that will do <$1M. Other ontario owners can chime in here.. but definitely something I would be willing to look at next season
  10. Hey Cruizin, Sounds awesome man! Looking forward to seeing those improvements!
  11. Hey Husqy Do you by any chance live in Waterloo? I often see a red FJ ride past my office which is located at Erb & Westmount Road. Seeing that bike ride by definitely helped push me in the direction of the Tracer! Cheers, Rob Hey Rob, That is almost definitely me Live in Kitchener but work right beside Uptown Waterloo. When I do ride, I go right by Erb & Westmount to get to the office Happy to hear I helped bring you on-board! Maybe we can grab a coffee if we get a break from the winter. She's stored in the garage, but I break her out if I get a dry, +5C day on the weekend. You would actually be the third person I influenced into getting a Yamaha triple. Two buddies of mine picked up the MT09 and the XSR900 because they fell in love with my FJ motor! Cheers.
  12. Fair enough, but you guys do get a true 12 month riding season... We are looking at 8-9 months at best :\\ (that's for us brave ones who ride until about 0 C)
  13. Sorry, my post was intended as sort of a clumsy way of sympathizing with you.No problem! Just some people seem to want to rub salt in the wound. We just want reasonable insurance
  14. Sigh... you try to post under the Canadian FJ09 portion... with a title of 'Ontario owners' and all the responses are just out-of-province people saying they pay less. WE KNOW. This was just info to help us Ontarians who are paying out the ass for insurance.
  15. Canadian FJ 09 Owners Forum... Thread about Ontario Insurance. 0, the answer is 0 DWIs. I just live in Ontario and am not over 30.
  16. Hey Ontario Owners, Just wanted to leave some info here! I got my updated contract from Aviva this year, and was sad to see it was still $2100/year for Liability + Comp. I contacted my broker, Dalton Timmis, and they got me onto Echelon for $1900/year; not bad but still high. On a group ride, a fellow rider suggest I contact Co-operators (details below)... Unfortunately they have an EXTENSIVE 'exclusion' list for motorcycles, with pretty much every sport bike on it. But guess which bike isn't? Our beloved FJ09. The quote they gave me was $1043 for the same coverage!!! I then opted to get full coverage for $1200 because why the hell not! So happy entering this riding season. Tell Bozena that Lukas sent you! 17. Previous owner did the ECU flash, but pretty sure they used that guy in the vendor thread (https://fj-09.org/board/37/ecu-flashing-2wheeldynoworks)
  18. I got a seat concepts seat, which is a new cover + foam for the stock pan. ECU is flashed and have a modified stock exhaust. The cat is empty so it has a lower growl and a bit lower but without the buzz on the highway. Down to meet up if people want to get together! Im in KW but anywhere in GTA is fine
  19. Rode around Airport/Mississauga area. The rain last week seemed to have cleaned it all up! But looks like back to winter already.
  20. Lucky with the weather today... lots of wind, but put 150km of twisties on it today! Anyone else out riding?
  21. Yes and it also can serve as a bumm bag, and if packed it tight as a back rest; just not as tall, long or wide as the ST version. great for small loads. But usually around town I run my Shad SH46 top case because it's relatively secure and also slim for illegal lane splitting. On tour I add the SH36 side cases and a CG Bilt top-roll 40L dry bag or a top-half cover across the pillion saddle. Damn! That's a serious setup. Thanks for showing it off. Mind sending me a link to those highway pegs?
  22. You're not the first one to mention Kriega, my friend at work also loves his... i will give them a serious look! Thanks!
  23. Wow, thank you for all that information. Super valuable. I'll see whats available up here north of the border!
  24. No problem. It does work great as a backrest. This bag can be attached to the pillion with two straps so you can remove the rear seat and bag as one piece (very quick). That is how I usually have it attached when I am running around town. I can't do that with the soft bags shown in the picture because they have a large velcro strip that goes across the rear seat.Watched a video on it... I don't see any quick release buckles. Is that correct? Maybe i could add my own. I would love to be able to take off the bag and leave the seat with the straps underneath
