  1. I have a used OEM Yamaha Comfort Seat set for sale for 2019-2020 Tracer 900 & GT. I just purchased this on here early this year from a member that traded in his Tracer. You can still see his original post about 10 posts down. It is in great condition with very little use but there are some boot marks on the passenger seat from the previous owners wife dragging her foot when getting off the bike.

I was able to finally test the seat out last week after the roads cleared up only to find out that it is far too tall for me. I had originally listed my Bagster seat for sale but since deleted it and decided to keep it. You will have to transfer the silver fill panel from your stock seat as it is not included with the Comfort seat. Item will ship from in Central NY zip 13211. US sale only please. $150 plus shipping. SOLD.

Thanks for another great write up, I reckon we don't always get what we pay for. I will continue to run the Dunlop Roadsmart III if the prices stay so cheap on those "fabulous tire by the way", otherwise I may just give these a whirl.

Ride365- Have you seen what a set Dunlop RS3's cost this year? I run them on my bikes also.

Last couple years a set was $250.78 in the US. 108.55 for a front 120/70-17 and 142.23 for a rear 180/55-17.

    Now they are 379.70 for a set. 167.46 for a front 120/70-17 and 212.24 for a rear 180/55-17.

Now they are almost as expensive as the Michelin Road series tires. I'm glad i changed tires on all my bikes last fall before storage to get me by for a while.

  3. Hello Joe,

I purchased your kit a while back for my 2019 Tracer 900 GT and it has been great. Recently i added a 2022 MT-09SP to my garage which has the same annoying forward seat slope. I am hoping that you will offer a kit for that bike soon. I checked your website and FB page but looks like it was still being tested. I will buy it as soon as it's available.

    Enjoy your vacation!

  4. I just saw this thread. Thanks for posting, it was fun to read. My 2nd bike ever was a maroon 83 Nighthawk 650. Bought it used in 91 and kept until 96. I really wanted the 700S model but couldn't find one in my low budget at the time.

I really liked my NH 650 until it started having charging system problems and left me stranded with a dead battery. I had found out in later years that this was a known problem with that bike.

I eventually found a parts bike in the local swap sheet which was like a printed newspaper version of craigslist. No E-bay or forum pages back then as the internet was adolescent in the mid 90's. I swapped out the generator & rectifier, test rode it once, sold it and moved on.

  5. I am not sure if the remap had anything to do with it. Going back to 2020 i do recall the tuner (Flashed by VCycleNut on fz09.org forum and facebook) asking me if i wanted the ECU mapped for certain things. 02 delete was one of them. I was skiddish about it at first but he thoroughly explained the benefit of doing so and i gave him the OK. I don't think i personally could detect the 02 sensor activating and de-activating while riding but he is a racer and knows his stuff when it comes to precise mapping.

He told me there would be codes and the engine light would illuminate at first fire-up as it did. He also told me how to easily clear the codes with a simple OBD2 code reader and gave me the amazon link to buy the Yamaha adapter cable. Now that i recall this it seems very possible that the remap is probably why the 02 disconnect does not affect the quickshifter on my XSR.

  6. We do not have emissions testing here in NY but over the winter our replacement Dem Governor found time to pass the NY "SLEEP" act which stands for "Stop Loud and Excessive Exhaust Pollution".

From what it appears is that in NY we are no longer allowed to modify our stock exhaust or replace our exhaust with anything aftermarket if it's louder than the stock decibel rating of the bike. Supposedly the inspection station is not allowed to pass any bike that has such modified exhaust. It has already been in enforced on the snowmobile trails this winter and applies to cars & trucks as well. Fines upwards of $1000 for the vehicle owner.

I do not personally know anyone that has been affected yet. The bike shops in the area don't even know how it's going to work yet. Supposedly they can get fined also. Hopefully riding season starts soon here in the Northeast when the roads clear up. I guess we will find out in the next couple months how this all shakes out. My Tracer is all stock but my other 2 bikes are not and i do not want to change them back to the stock exhaust.

  7. I finally got a few hours of seat time on my Tracer this past weekend. Happy to report that the seat slope mod works excellent! Before the mod i would be would scooching back after about 30-40 miles and then constantly throughout the remainder of the ride.  After installing the mod i am no longer scooching back. This is the best and cheapest mod i have done to my Tracer since i bought it new. I'm half tempted to put the stock seat back on and give it a try again.

Thank you Clegg78 for making this kit and helping all of us Tracer/FJ/T9 owners enjoy our bikes more.

  8. I received my seat slope kit on Tuesday 10/12 and installed it yesterday evening. Very impressed with the quality of the components and the fast turn-around time from time of order placement. Installation was a snap like everyone else has been stating, a simple one beer job!  There is no large gaps and it does not tweak the side panels. Visually the seat does appear to be more level when looking at it from the side. Looking forward to a true test ride soon!

This kit works with the Bagster seat. The one I have that I'm selling, I test fit it last night just for the heck of it and it fits the same as the stock seat.

Thank you pokey074. Heck maybe i'll sell mine to if this seat slope kit works out.

Cool profile pic by the way. I was a Miami Vice fan back in the 80's.

It may be compatible with any seat that uses the stock seat mount pads on the frame.  Since that is what we are tweaking the height of.  If the plastic tray the seat sits on is the same this may very well work.  There are just so many aftermarket seats I can’t promise each of them would work.

let me know how it goes!

Clegg78- I just placed my order in your store. I can't see how my Bagster seat would mount any different than a Yamaha seat. Last year when i bought it new there was not any difference with how it installed on the bike. I am taking a weekend trip on 10/15-10/17 so that would be a great time to test it out if it arrives in time.

Thank you for offering an economical solution for the seat slope issue on our beloved 2019-2020 Tracers.

  11. Clegg78- Well i saw in your store that the kit is only compatible with the stock seat or Yamaha comfort seat. I still may order it and try throwing the stock seat back on temporarily. Will pull my stock seat out of storage tomorrow and compare them first to see how different my Bagster seat is at the front.

Here is my comfort seat set at the low setting.

Thank you clegg78 and pokey074 for the photos. It looks very normal to me like it should. I fiddled with spacers and washers on my bike and the seat just looked odd to me like it did not belong. I have a Bagster seat on my 2019 GT and run it in the low position so i think it will be perfect.  Will be placing an order.

Got the kit installed tonight. This thing seems LEGIT!!! Didn’t get to go for a ride (hopefully tomorrow) but it seems to make a NOTICEABLE improvement to the seat slope.

    Hi pokey074,

Is there any way you could post a photo of yours after the install? I'm just curious if there are any large noticeable odd looking gaps.

    Thank you.

  14. Yes the same thing happened to my US 2019 GT. Discovered partially torn and missing o-rings at 4K miles. I bought the bike new in 2020 as a new leftover so Yamaha replaced the chain under warranty last fall.

I also like you clean my chain regularly with WD-40 and use a good chain lube (Maxima chain wax) so this was very surprising. I also own a 2019 XSR900 that i bought new and has just over 5K miles on it now. I maintain that chain in the same manner and it has never lost an o-ring.

It seems likely that the US 2019 Tracers got a bad batch of chains at some point. Perhaps the UK 2018's did also. I would be curious if any 2020 Tracer owners have had any chain problems.

  15. I logged on to hopefully find out some info on the gas situation also. I have a trip planned for the Smokies for the last week in May. Last night i was reading posts on the Tail of the Dragon Facebook page and it does not look good.

That might be a thing for me. Getting a back tire mounted recently has been a fiasco of the driving all over town variety...

I see you're in Knoxville. There is a Cycle Gear store there that mounts tires fairly reasonable from what i remember. Whenever i am down that way on vacation i usually stop in there for something.
