  1. Hi fam- I fooled around with Inkscape tonight and was able to clean it up well enough for my needs. I don't think this is anywhere close to perfect but will be good enough for the 2" decal I want to make. I attached it below to give back
  2. Good idea. We'll see what magic lospsi can do before I go this route I'm making a sticker on my vinyl cutter to put on a fuse panel under the seat. The sticker is totally unnecessary so I don't want to buy the official Yamaha part to cut it up. Also- thinking about it... not sure what they'd say if they asked me what I need it for. To me- the most shocking part of all this is the lack of art online. You can find logos of nearly any other Yahama bike but not this one. I know the FJ isn't so popular but there are still quite a bit of us...
  3. I had to take the manual to work for the scan. I scanned it in greyscale, color, and higher def color. Attached are the files. Thank you so much for your help!
  4. Does anyone have a clean SVG or PNG of the branded FJ-09 logo like the one below? There's countless MT-09 logos available online but I cannot find an FJ version. I'd scan the manual but it has a stupid watermark and would be a ton of work to clean up (well, with my skill level). I want to make a sticker but need clean art to start with. Thanks!
  5. Keithu- thanks for looking into it for me. Somewhere on this forum I read a horror story of someone tapping this signal. He wired it to a relay and said within a few cycles, the ECU pin failed. Turns out the wire carries logic level voltage and couldn't even handle the relay. After the engine is started, the line is briefly pulled high then returns to low or float. The headlight module listens for this then switches on the LEDs. He ended up having to tie the Y/B permanently to ground to get the headlights to work. I've since abandoned needing the engine on sense and will just use the main key switch. If I really wanted to activate a relay after engine start- I'd tap the brake light line with a latching relay so the circuit wouldn't activate until I hit the brake. Latching because after the brake is squeezed, the relay would stay on. This would over 99% of cases.
  6. I thought it was the battery being weak but even after replacing it (for other reasons), the problem still persists. Maybe it is just a crappy charger.... I’m still looking for that signal tho!!
  7. Just some aux driving lights and a usb outlet. I’ve noticed that if my phone is plugged into the outlet *then* I start the bike, the outlet goes int “limp” mode and will only charge with a very low current. If I plug the phone in after the engine is started, it will charge at full current. The difference is significant in that if I’m using google maps with screen on at all times, the phone will slowly start to lose charge. The only way to resolve this is to unplug the phone, wait for like 10 seconds, and re plug it in. This is incredibly difficult with gloves on.
  8. Yes, exactly. What I’m looking for is a power source that is not live until the engine has started, much like the headlights.
  9. Hello- I want to add some aux lights to my FJ but only want them coming on if the engine was started, much like the stock headlights. It’s easy enough to relay them with the key on but I don’t want them to brown out when starting. The headlight circuit is not normal like your typical incandescent bulbs where you could just tap for a relay off of that. Somewhere on this forum I read that two of the four extra connectors in the headstock are switched with engine on but I tested this and that doesn’t seem to be the case. Thanks!
  10. Thank you so much, micah and betony! I didn't know Revzilla sells OEM parts like that and partshark also looks like a valuable resource.
  11. Hey folks- When I bought my FJ, the PO had a Puig tour screen on it and did not include the factory screen. I like it but wanted to move to something smaller and when I went to fit it, realize that there is also some sort of plastic bracket also missing. This bracket would have connected the factory screen to the metal sliders behind the gauges. Does anyone know where I can source a replacement bracket? Thanks!
  12. Nice idea. I like the bracket adjustment idea... might try to put something together myself
  13. what is that toy shelf made out of? Is it t-track? 80/20? What are those RAM mounts that connect to it? I really like your idea
  14. This is great. Form over function. Good use of wasted space
  15. The *only* thing I notice when I approach mine is the stand-out red markings on it. Can't stand it. The black gloss decal over dark matte surface looks good. Nice touch.
