Orangeville area sounds great, July 27 works for me, count me in.
Thanks for herding the cats.

I've been shopping around too, the Tracer GT is classed as a sport bike by every company I contacted in Ontario. The best price I have is $875 (full coverage) from Harley Davidson insurance, powered by Aviva. The website says they will insure any brand of bike provided one bike is a Harley, but they quoted me for 2 Yamahas.

Hi, I'm all for a meetup with fellow riders, and all those dates are open but....... I'm a simple country boy and have no desire to ride anywhere in, near or through Toronto. Sorry for the mini rant! If a more rider friendly location can be agreed on, count me in. 😎

If Yamaha treats the Tracer the same as Super Tenere, then oil change intervals are 10,000 kms for European and Asian spec bikes, and 6,000 kms for North American spec bikes. I use the longer interval when my warranty expires, bike runs fine.

Lots of advice in previous posts here, grip puppies, bar weights, clamps on backwards, etc.
If your bike is brand new you will likely find it smooths out a bit with use. Also check drive chain tension, throttle body synchronization, and wheel balance.
All that said, it is a transverse mounted three cylinder engine and some vibration is inherent with the design, no matter what brand.

I found mine on ebay last year, $21 with free shipping at the time. Universal Powersports LLC was the vendor.
Just search Tusk Handlebar riser Kit, select 1 1/8 bars and 15 mm rise.

215 km before the gauge moves from full, 300-320 before the low fuel begins flashing, 50+ on reserve. Average consumption says 4.3 L/100 km but calculated is usually around 4.8. Low fuel flashes when fuel consumed says 14 litres but usually takes .5 to 1.0 more litres to fill. All this at 100km/hr indicated which is 92 by GPS. Wick the speed up and all those numbers head south quickly.

I wintered in Apache Junction and plan to be there again next November. Lots of great riding there, let's meet up and play together.

Looks like you are at Nash in Mesa, that GT has been sitting there since November.
Congratulations, $14k is a lot less than that young exotic woman would have cost you!

Weak brakes? No. My previous two bikes had integrated front and rear brakes so I'm relearning to use the rear pedal on the GT but they are more than adequate.

I traded a 900 lb cruiser/touring bike for my GT, good lord what a breath of fresh air! The Tracer is so light and nimble, and with a few mods fits my 6' tall, 64 yr old body just fine. The throttle is twitchy in A mode but very manageable in B, and with traction control full on I've never had an unintended wheelie. I swapped the stock pannier lids for used ones from an FJR and added a 50 litre trunk so lots of luggage space, Calsci windscreen, FJR foot pegs and I'm ready to tour anywhere.
Listen to your inner voice, just buy one! 😈

The first digit or letter in the VIN indicates the country of origin. J is for Japan.

My GT, Canadian spec says Made in Japan on the VIN sticker.

rlambke19, I have a GT and bought used FJR bags just for the lids. I painted them and swapped them onto my bags by simply removing the hinge pins, perfect fit.
The right FJR bag has a broken top hook but the latch and locking mechanisms are fine, you can have it if you want to try make one good from two broken bags.

Above is the 15mm Tusk riser. It's meant for KTM so doesn't match the profile but can't see that when riding. Stock cables and no problem.

I've felt my bike scrape bottom numerous times, usually when riding 2-up (we are 350 lb combined) and when entering or exiting driveways. I don't want to add a large cage under the bike, too heavy, reduced ground clearance, and aesthetics, so I'm wondering about adding a small piece of 1/8 steel checker plate stuck to the bottom of the sump with industrial double side tape. I'd bent a lip up to match the curve at the front of the sump, and drill a hole to access the drain plug.
It appears the stock sump is very thin and punctures easily so the plate would strengthen it without loosing much ground clearance.
I welcome comments.

Interesting and entertaining!
The irony here is that Fortnine sells all those special chain lube and wax goop, and the gear oil shown is Canadian Tire brand.....

Really? This didn't work for me, and I don't see anything in the service manual about it.
Edit: I tried it again and it does work on my bike. I guess I wasn't lifting hard enough or I counted too fast.

Let's see some photos of gooless and Tracerless panels. May help a few of us to decide.

My GT does the same thing, I've determined it is operator error.
The switches in the clutch lever and shift lever are sensitive, and I was inadvertently touching the shift lever after shifting which kills the engine. I shortened my shift linkage a bit to slightly raise the lever from my foot and just pay more attention to getting my boot away from the shift lever after completing each shift. And using the quick shifter more often reduces the problem too, and more fun!

Care to share thoughts/ experience/ pics of having a 50L Yammie case?
I really want the 50L so I can store 2 helmets but am wondering about drag or if will be somewhat oversize for the bike.
See my photos above, posted Nov 26. The lock and latches work fine, my bride says it makes a good backrest, and I haven't noticed any handling affects up to 115 mph. But..... no way, no how will it hold 2 full face helmets.
Alaska on a Tracer 900GT?

I've done it on a 900 lb cruiser with street tires and the GT would be more capable. It's paved all the way and lots of pavement in Alaska, leave the dirt roads to the adventure bikes and you'll be fine.
