  1. I know this isn’t relevant to actually lowering the bike…but I bought the lowered seat for my 2017 FJ-09. Reduced height and more narrow towards the tank. With my 28” (or less) inseam it helped my confidence at stops. I still can’t back it up safely while on it, so in your case not sure it’s what you’re looking for.

  2. Selling my full 2 Two Brothers exhaust I bought from 58cycle.com a few years ago for my 2017 FJ-09. It comes with all mounting hardware and spring puller if you want.

Decided to go back to stock to make 2-up riding easier for coms.
Normal wear and tear. You’ll see in the pictures that there is a dent in the header pipe which was caused by loading the bike in a U-Haul moto trailer. Those ramps suck!

No ill effects, leaks or cracks and not noticeable once mounted.

$500, no shipping. I’m near the Sacramento, CA area.

  3. I'm about 90 miles from T-Hill. Also only did 2 days this year. Looking to do more next year for sure.

Does track riding diminish your pleasure of street riding?
I always worry that if I start doing track days ( i have a small trackish type thing that's pretty close) that I wouldn't enjoy the street anymore.

It can. It's changed how I look at street riding. I've found more pleasure going for longer rides and just cruising or doing overnighters instead of going for a ride fully spirited.

But to be fair, I was never very fast on the street to begin with. It just changed my mentality from an all spirited ride vs. enjoying the whole day while still hitting some fun/fast corners.

  4. Selling my brand new in sealed bag (opened the 1st to make sure all hardware was included) Givi top case backrest pad. It was going to go on my V47 top case. It may fit other models, but do your research. Somehow I ended up with 2. So, I’m selling the 1 I don’t need.

$50 obo. Located in the Sacramento, CA area. No shipping.

I just made a blank table in Word and write the maintenance in. Each bike has it's own folder where I store all receipts along with the Maintenance sheet.Easy Peasy!

^^^ this....I'm not tech savvy so a hand write in form with date, mileage, performance done type of log in a binder with room for any/all receipts is what I do.

  6. I like to freeze one of those neck gators in water inside a small Tupperware the night before. During the beginning of the ride, I'll wear another gator that was soaked in cold water. About 1/2 to 3/4 the way through a days ride, that frozen gator has now since thawed and is still ice cold and ready. As it drips and soaks the jacket, it's instant relief and so gratifying at speed.

The gator is also good about keeping the sun off my neck and can be used in areas where masks are still required.

I'll be interested in what you think of 29 between Middletown and Calistoga. That's the part that goes up and over Mt. St. Helena, through Robert Louis Stevenson Park. The top section is a long series of 300 degree curves, one after the other. There's some folks who love it, some who think it's a PITA. Either way it's an uncommon bit of road that needs to be ridden at least once.

Going from Calistoga to Middletown via 29 is a blast for sure. Going the other way...not so much fun in my opinion.

And 253, super fun. Took it on a whim once, then altered my route for the next morning in order to hit it again

  8. Out of curiosity, are you sure it's a slip on and not a full system?

It's hard to tell by the pictures, but it looks like there are springs from the exhaust connecting to the pipe? And based on a stock system,  a slip on would need a connecting mid pipe right? (Also, I didn't think 2 Brothers made a slip on for the FJ))

Awsm!  I will try the px1 power tip!  There is a metal ring where the tip would insert, does that stay there with the px1 tip inserted?

Is the metal ring kinda wavy in nature? If so, I believe that's the "gasket" that prevents to insert from rattling and moving around.

  10. Not to sway you away from a stock exhaust, but have you considered ordering the PX1 insert for the 2 Brothers series?

I had a 2 Brothers slip on, on my old '07 gsxr 750. I put in that insert and it quieted it down signifigantly. Cheap, convienent and easy to install. Dare even say it lowered it to stock sound levels or at the very least pretty darn close.

just a thought, unless you're set on going back to stock.

  11. Just wanting to comment on the factory Yamaha lowered seat on the FJ-09. Just for reference, I'm 5'4" with a 28" (or less) inseam. I've done pretty well over the last couple years with the seat in the low position. However, me having total confidence ridding with my pillion, windy days and long rides where fatigue sets in lower my confidence dramatically. Soooo,...I broke down, swallowed my pride and ordered the lowered/narrowed seat.

I went on a quick 70 mile ride today. The confidence when coming to a stop and at times with decent gusts of wind really increased. I really thought this was going to be perfect. But,...the longer I rode, the more sore my hindquarters became. Holy crap that thing is firm.

At this point I'm still too prideful to not lower the whole bike....but may need to swallow that pill at some point. I'll see how the lowered seat goes with my pillion and may just use it for that.
