  1. According to roadside speed monitors and other riders and drivers I am 10per cent over. To answer your question I have the stock tyres the bike is sold with and running rear at recommended 36psi.
  2. Sounds great. Thanks. Let me know how much. I am going to Yandina in a few weeks. Could pick it up if you have it by then. thanks Peter
  3. Thanks for the replies. Will follow up. cheers Peter
  4. Hi I'm finding my speedo is giving me a reading quite a bit higher than it should. At 120kph, everyone else is sitting on 110. Is there an adjustment for this. cheers Peter
  5. Hi Was waiting for my mates to get ready to depart motel on the last day of our ride and I accidently hit the horn, as I often do. It was the first time I was the first person ready as they were usually waiting for me. Did they get up me. So, where could I get one of these. cheers. Peter
  6. One step ahead of you. They got back to me a few minutes ago and told me to buy it from AMCmotorcycle parts in Dididlibah. I had given up on them as I had sent them an email last Friday and heard nothing back. Also a few minutes ago I finally received a reply from them. Have ordered it pending lodging a deposit. I guess it goes to show all things come to he who waits. But I hate waiting. Thanks for your reply. cheers
  7. Hi I put a post up here a few weeks back enquiring if anyone knew of a distributor in Australia for these carriers. I had a reply from someone in Rentec offering to help out if I cant find anyone. I thought I was onto a lead but it seems to have dried up. If said Rentec operator reads this could you get back to me as it looks like I am going to have to source this from overseas. cheers Peter
  8. Thanks for looking that up. I had a feeling it would be wrong. So it's all yours. cheers. Peter
  9. Ok. Have been in touch with the seller. I like the idea of the extra storage, apart from the issue of solo registration. Next two questions (seems I have an endless supply of them). Does the 2015 pillion seat fit the 2018 model. I seem to recall they are different because of the rear end modification made on the later models. Secondly, do you have to remove the grab rails to install this box as I have a carrier that I wouldn't be able to use if that is the case. Anyone from the French PD happen to visiting this site at present - maybe searching for a stolen pillion box?😀
  10. Thought it might have been you. What's it worth to you for us to keep our mouths shut.ðŸĪŠ
  11. Might be in water colour. BOM forecasting some wet weather out here this weekend.
  12. Do you reckon it might be texscottyd from Houston who posted earlier. 😁
  13. I drove past the Leyburn pub. Saw all the bikes parked there. Not much of a day for a ride. Having said that we recently did 2500k outback - St George, Thargomindah, Quilpie, Charleville and back. Some mornings we were hitting the road at 6degrees and heavy fog. Great ride though, except for the pig that nearly took me out.
  14. Thanks for this. This seems somewhat extreme to me. If a removable seat cowl is not acceptable how are you supposed to reduce the seat length. You have to be able to remove whatever it is that replaces the pillion seat. As for drilling out the threads for the mounting brackets, that leaves no option to return to dual seating at some time in the future. Basically, what it looks like they are saying is that if you didn't buy a solo seat bike in the first place then eat shit. Did you find what the penalty is for non compliance - probably six months in the pen on bread and water with hard labour.
  15. I see you are almost a neighbour. I am out near Warwick. Although the law here in Qld states the seat mod must be done as well it appears from what you are saying is that most people ignore that and dont get caught. I think that the seat mod is unnecessary as noone is going to ride pillion on a Tracer without footpegs anyway. Or if they are the sort of person who would I wouldn't have them on the back of my bike anyway. Seems cowls are as rare as rocking horse shit, especially in Australia, unless we get a shipment of hot ex French police units arrive some time soon.
  16. keithu I dont even know if this applies in all Australian states. I know it saves a couple of hundred dollars in Qld. Don t know how familiar you are with vehicle registration in Australia. We have two components you pay for. One is the government charge, the other is called third party insurance to cover injury to someone else involved. The reduction in what we call third party insurance is obvious as there is no third party on the bike (that is passenger) so the risk for the insurance company is reduced. As per the reduction in registration cost, I am unsure as to how that applies. Maybe less wear on the road surface due to reduced weight on the bike 😉
  17. Hi I am considering re-registering my Tracer as solo as in Queensland it saves a few hundred dollars. Removing the pillion footpegs presents no dramas however the seat must no be longer than 500mm. This requires the pillion seat to be replaced with something not padded. Has anyone done this and how so? cheers Peter
  18. Hi I am after a luggage carrier Ren7367b. So far can only find it for sale in other countries meaning high cost of shipping. Does anyone know of a Renntec distributor in Australia. Cheers. Peter.
  19. Triumph Thunderbird 900 2002 model. Loved it. Did thousands of fun kilometres on it. In the end electrical problems and other commitments saw us part our ways. Great bike to own if you are into polishing chrome and tinkering. Now I have the 2018 tracer. No chrome and any work is done by the Yamaha service agent. Just ride.
  20. Is the radiator guard the same for the Tracer and the MT-09. cheers Peter
  21. Reduced airflow is definitely a consideration I have been pondering on. Does anyone have an info on changes to running temps after fitting a rad guard. Here in Australia we can get some pretty hot days. Have only had the Tracer for two months so haven't encountered a summer yet. Runs at 70degrees, 69 on a cool day. cheers Peter
