Expanding this thread to include tools in your garage to help with ongoing Niken maintenance. Just got my NoMar tire changing tool set up in my garage this weekend.
Attempted my first tire change on my SUV as a test run and couldn't break the beads on my tires...😭. Doesn't mirror the ease of what I saw on YouTube.
Going to need me a better solution for breaking tire beads...

Wow - that is deep Quebec....

Just got back from Madrid and saw a few Yamaha Tricity, Piaggio MP3 as well as these three wheelers from Peugeot that I was not familiar with.
These are the Peugeot Metropolis according to the Peugeot UK site: https://www.peugeotscooters.co.uk/scooter/52/peugeot-metropolis-sw

I put the Pyramid hugger extension on my Niken - looks nice but makes no difference.
Reluctantly, and in the absence of a listed 'proper' front fender extender, I put rubber flaps on the end of the front fender. They are very close to the ground without reversing over them. Work really well in keeping the water/crap off your boots but are a triumph of form over fashion.
How long did you end up having to make them?

Was this to improve long distance riding comfort in terms of pressure or reduce the cold? Some fellow riders swear by the seat beads used by taxi drivers.
I've been debating about getting an Airhawk to reduce fatigue from long distance (>100+ miles) rides.

Am looking to reduce spray during wet/muddy weather conditions on my Niken GT. Stumbled across Pyramid plastics out of the UK who carries a rear lip extender to help reduce overspray from the underside of the rear wheel.
I've seen some folks make their own front fender extensions, and in the Niken Facebook page it looks like may be introducing front fender extenders soon.
Puig appears to have their own set of fender extenders.https://puig.tv/en/tuning-motos/mudguards/extenda-fenda?bike=30025
Anyone else have options they can share?

My wife, kids and I have worn Hit-air airbag vests for the past several years. Clipping in becomes second nature and we all feel safer. I've set mine off once while out of state on a trip. I dropped the bike on a steep hill doing a slow turn. I jumped up, mad about dropping the bike and set off the airbag vest. At that point it was just funny. I didn't like the ride home without my airbag vest so I had two Co2 cylinders overnighted and reset my airbag vest in minutes before having to leave the following day.
How old were the kids and what size vest do you use with them?

I built a one-wheeled trailer that I have pulled with my ST1100. It is light enough that I could pull it with the FJ, if needed. Would probably modify it to a "through-axle" type of hitch. It is no wider than the bike, so one doesn't have to change how you ride much, and it will lean as far over as I've been comfortable with. Stable at triple-digit speeds!
I also have a Mini Mate pop-up camper that I pull with the ST. No way would I hitch it to my FJ (or Niken) It would push you around too much!
Just curious - under what use case scenarios do you find the need to add a trailer to your bike? Is it driven by camping?

I would be afraid how easy it would be to have my trailer stolen when unhitched from my bike. 😳

Stumbled across the Swiss Niken owners forum on Facebook and ran across this warning from fellow owner where their Niken's rear license plate holder failed when the two screws holding the license plate mount to the bike suffered fatigue failure and dropped off from the bike -presumably due to either overzealous screw tightening and/or noise/vehicle vibration. Perform an inspection to see if this is happening with your Niken. A lost tag is a PITA no matter what country you're in.

I had this same problem when I parked outside a North Carolina restaurant for lunch at high noon in summer (95 degree F /35 degree C). My bike wouldn't start after sitting in the sun for over an hour.

Thanks for posting up. Although I've been happy with my Dianese airbag vest I'm always looking for something better. Really wish the "non tethered" vests would get more coverage like the tethered one have. I wear my vest ALL the time when riding even on my scooter when making a quick short trip to the grocery store. Vest is easy to throw on. Gloves, helmet and vest and I go - would not ever wear that little on the bike but somehow in my mind I make it ok for the scooter!
Primary reasons I haven't looked at the non tethered electronic versions is because :
- Higher upfront costs $749 USD for Dainese D-air or Alpinestars Tech Air 5
- Reliance on battery being charged in order for system to work.
- Most electronic systems are one time use only. Once airbag deploys cannot be used again, or the airbag must be sent in to service facility where it must be serviced to the tune of an additional $250 USD e.g. Dainese D-air.
- In some instances a subscription is required to allow the unit to work.
However some of the electronic advantages include:
- Protection at a dead stop while on a vibrating motorcycle (Dainese)
- Not having to worry about tethering of untethering.

And Point Two Air Vests out of the UK look like they've finally released their first motorcycle airbag vest, the ProAir FORCE.

However, US site looks like they're only selling the equestrian models at this time.

Glad the posts have helped. When I first joined the forum this was literally the only online forum I found for Niken postings that seemed to have a strong enough online presence (thanks to the Tracer community) with enough potential to begin posting searchable Niken topics in considerable detail as a resource for owners and future owners.
What I was encountering at the time when I first got my Niken GT was a lack of technical detail about the joys and challenges of owning a machine like this. Initially I figured it was because it was such a new machine that not enough time had passed to build up a database of owner experience.
It was through the efforts of this and other Niken Facebook communities that I came to learn that it was more due to the low numbers of Niken production and resulting ownership that largely contributed to the largely missing online treasure trove of technical ownership information.
It was only after the community helped confirm the actual US production/sales numbers being less than 300 (through recall data from US government agencies) that fellow Niken ownership experience (in the USA at least) will be more similar to that of ultra limited production super car owners and the limited number of techs who are capable of servicing Nikens.
I'm happy to hear that this labor of love was valuable enough to @dpw818 to register and join our expanding Niken community. And I still have the fervent hope that someday we'll be able to have a Niken rally in the USA and meet fellow owners in person.
