  1. I JUST signed up because I'm interested in the Niken and it looks like this may be the place to learn more about one before deciding on a purchase.  I'm 77 and an experienced touring and off-road rider.  My current street bike is a 2001 GL1800A with a "Full Montey" Tranxion Dynamics set up with about 200K miles - most of which were put on before 2010 when I mostly quit street riding (because my Sweetheart/wife passenger lost interest).  At that point I resumed serious off-road riding on mostly KTMs.  I'm in northern Maryland USA - near DC and just south of PA.

If ANYONE can direct me on how to better use this forum or where to look for Niken info I'd appreciate it.

One question I haven't yet seen addressed in the several Niken threads I've check is -  Is the Niken and harder or easier to pick up if you drop it than a similar size/weight conventional sport touring bike.  I'm in fairly good shape for a 77 year old, but struggle to lift my Goldwing if dropped and thus am looking a lighter touring bikes that still have some of the comforts and wind protection that OLD folks like :>)

    THANKS for any help!

Welcome!    We seem to be getting more Niken owners and interest here recently, so hopefully you can pick up some helpful information.

If you haven’t found it yet, there is a Niken specific sub-forum here on the broader Tracer/FJ board.  Take a look around and feel free to post questions in those forums...   it’s a friendly group around here.
