Attended the MSTA Mail Pouch Fly By in Marietta, Ohio over the weekend.  About 900 miles of Ohio River Valley twisties over 4 days!  Quite a few FJ-09s/Tracers in attendance.  Here's a trace from my Spot tracker:

Wash mine twice a year whether it needs it or not.

I know it's a long shot, but if anyone has a damaged Yamaha OEM FJ09 top box, I'm in need of a lense/reflector. I'm pretty sure the lense is the same on both the 39l and 50l. I haven't been able to find a replacement from Yamaha, it's "all or nothing". 😞

1st answer is "cheaper to manufacture", then likely mass centralization.

Wonder if the mesh communication is compatible with Sena or Cardio?  Anyway, until my GPS and Sena die, don't think I'll be jumping on this.

Tough decision to make, but one each of may have to do. I too will likely go to a Miata when the time comes.

Today is "Ride to Work Day", so I did. Apparently it is also "Free Bike Wash Day" as my Fudge is getting a rain-water rinse! All good!

Well, it was Sunday, but close enough!  Worked on routes for a rally my wife and I host (OH-STOC, Ohio ST-Owners Club).  Our 16th year hosting!  The FJ-09 is such a delight to ride through the hills of Southern Ohio! (and anywhere else!!) And I saved a baby dinosaur while I was at it!

I can't comment on the T9GT as I have a '15 FJ-09, but I go with what the others are saying.

Also check out MSTA and some of their shenanigans that they host in N Kentucky.  Red River Gorge Rally is a blast!

Another W&S user.  Their jackets come with a pack pouch that's about 8"x10" IIRC.   I hand wash with NikWax wash.  One of the best gear investments you can make!

I have even used my heated liner and gloves while doing snow removal on my Kubota tractor.

Welcome to the fold and congrats on acquiring the fast red FJ.

The MC Cruise is the bee's knees! Though some consider it a difficult install, the kit is very well documented and works great once completed. Highly recommend!!  I lucked out and bought mine from another user that may have been intimidated by the install, for a reduced price.

Check this site for other's experiences with the install, and if you decide to get one, read through the instructions several times and set aside 2-3 evenings to complete it. There are also several youtube videos regarding the install and calibration steps.

Use HDPE as a replacement for the plywood.  Easy to work, good enough for boat decks and the likes.  Not too expensive.

I used it to make my rear fender for my under-tail tool box.

I have a '15 w Yamaha panniers and 39l top box. I also added a ammo box under the tail for my tool roll and Stop-n-go air compressor. Never had a problem other than front gets light on hard acceleration (duh!)

I've typically gotten 2 years out of batteries on the TPMS sensors I've installed.  You can get a 10 pack of the CR1632 button batteries for less than $6.00 on Amazon.  I keep a spare set in the tank bag of each bike.

My Cyclops system is still working as new, no issues so far other than replacing batteries in the sensors.  The bike has spent plenty of time in the weather.

Yes, Camping while riding 2 up. Can also be handy for a run to the store.

I built a one-wheeled trailer that I have pulled with my ST1100. It is light enough that I could pull it with the FJ, if needed. Would probably modify it to a "through-axle" type of hitch. It is no wider than the bike, so one doesn't have to change how you ride much, and it will lean as far over as I've been comfortable with. Stable at triple-digit speeds!

I also have a Mini Mate pop-up camper that I pull with the ST. No way would I hitch it to my FJ (or Niken) It would push you around too much!

I'll check on it in a few weeks to make sure it holds up.  I don't want to drill holes for rivets. I'll use some epoxy if it looks like the hot glue won't hold up.

Last week I installed a MCCruise on my 2015.  While doing that, pulled the airbox to simplify installation.  Noted that some meeces (I hate meeces ta pieces!) had left some dog food in the air box.  So after cleaning that out and replacing the air filter, I installed some expanded aluminum mesh (gutter guard) over the air intake using some hot glue.  That'll keep the lil' bastards out!

Then over the weekend, attended the MSTA's "Mail Pouch Fly By" in Marietta, OH.  Had a blast carving up some of the best roads around!  Even took the Sisterville Ferry across the Ohio River.  And turned over 25,000 miles on the way home.

I bought a used 'Stitch RC "giant onesie" in the green/Grey that I usually wear for my ride to work, and on cooler days. I updated most of it's armor to 3DO. Also have a Transition III jacket in neon green, Klim waterproof overpants, and Firstgear mesh jacket and pants for hot days.

A red Warm-n-Safe heated liner w dual controller, along with their heated gloves makes for comfy rides when it's cold. Held "Steve" gloves are my go-to pair, but have several other pairs (rain, mesh) that are usually in the top box.

TCX X-Five boots are favorite boots; waterproof and comfy out of the box! And topped off with a Shoei Neotec lid in silver. Shopping for a new lid, love the Shoeis but I'm not paying $900 for a new one!
