Thought I'd jump on and say hi. Just picked this 2016 up last weekend and already have benefited from joining this forum. One of the main reasons for buying this bike was for my wife and I to enjoy two up weekend getaways. My wife being a nervous pillion, I added the 50L OEM top case straight away as it had the biggest back support I could find. I didn't like the style of the Yamaha rear carrier and much preferred the look of the later model carrier. Thanks to a helpful post in here I went ahead and got the dealer to order me one in. I think they asked me a total of 8 times whether I was sure I wanted the later model carrier and thought I was nuts. I then found another post explaining how to modify the locks so they all work off the ignition key. To have one key operate the bike and all luggage is outstanding. Added bonus is now my wife thinks I'm a genius!! Needless to say, my wife now loves the bike and we are looking forward to weekend escapes! Cheers, Hal

Patch Kit, I know this is an old thread, but I'm in the same situation. I really like the form of the later style rack. Can you let me know if you went ahead and installed the later one piece rack on your 2015 bike? Was it just a matter of cutting some of the plastic trim? Cheers.
