How is it to install the Seat Concepts foam and cover onto the existing pan?

Any pictures of the seat on the bike?

Only took about an hour total. Rode for about 180 miles on it last week and it still feels a little firm for me. I'm hopeful that it will "break-in" and be fine. Make sure you have a pneumatic staple gun. I used a Harbor Freight one and it did fine.

I just ordered a set of Shinko Verge X2 for my bike to try. I know they will not be comparable to the major brands as far as mileage, but I do my own tire changes, and for $262 for the set I figured why not???

I run Shinkos' on my vintage bike just because I like new, fresh rubber, as I only ride it about 4K miles per year, and the Shinkos' last that long, giving me new tires every season.

I will be doing some aggressive "following" in about 3 weeks in southern Indiana, and we shall see how they perform on a Tracer.

Ok, the Shinko update is in! I got 8,100miles out of this set of Shinko's. Granted I do not "carve canyons", and about 75% of those miles were highway miles, but I think I got my moneys worth.

  4. That's the way I do it also. The Nelson Rigg tail bag is a nice piece of equipment! But since I ride a lot of different bikes (5), I have purchased extra straps so I can easily move it from one bike to another. I can change it from one bike to another in less than a minute.

  5. It's a great scenic ride, IMO. Lots of interesting stops and views.

Just imagine how much fun you could have if the speed limit was higher! The northern end has lots of twisties but the speed limit takes away a lot of the fun!  Cruise control is a must have!

  6. I've never done the ones on the Tracer, but I had a Triumph Trophy that had to have them cleaned every 4,000 miles or so to reduce brake "surging".

I used an ezy-out in a cordless drill to do mine. Insert the ezy-out in the bobbin, spray generously with brake cleaner while spinning it with the drill. You'll be amazed at the "gunk" that comes out of them! Make sure to cover as much of the wheel as possible to lessen the clean-up time.

    Just my .02!
