  1. If you want to start small (aka cheaper) the first thing I would replace are the drivers footpegs with some rubber covered ones off Ebay for less foot vibration(<$10),then maybe a Radiator guard for rock protection (<$45), fender extender for more radiator protection (<$40) and the seat slope mod the Clegg78 sells for solving the seat pitching you forward issue (<$30).

    Just my .02

  2. "Most dealers don't allow test rides on random bikes at all.  They're left at 0 miles.  They'll have a couple demo bikes which they allow test rides on, then after a model refresh they'll sell those.

All those new bikes on the showroom floor are almost never fueled up and ready to ride, and in fact when you buy new bikes you almost never buy *that specific bike* but a newly assembled one unless the showroom floor bike is the last they have."

Not in my area! The last 3 new bikes that I purchased were test ridden off the showroom floor and then directly to my house. Maybe the dealer could sense that I was going to buy them!

  3. I would be really shocked it the dealer waited to add acid to the battery until it was sold. I would bet that they wanted it ready to go for a test ride, in case they had a possible buyer. Regardless, 4-5 years is normal life expectancy on these batteries from my experience. "IF" they are properly maintained. A quick trip to your local auto parts store, most of them will do a battery test for free, then you will know for sure if it is weak.

  4. My 2020 Tracer 900GT didn't want to start on Friday morning. It had been sitting for about 5-6 days on a battery tender. It would crank but not fire. I tried turning the key on-off 3-4 times with no luck. I had a very strong fuel smell while trying to start it. I let it sit for 5-6 minutes and it started after I held the throttle wide open while cranking. Ran rough for a few seconds and then settled down to a nice idle. Rode it 383 miles that day, stopping multiple times and it never failed to start as usual?????

I was thinking that I might have possibly gotten some bad gas on my last trip, since I was in an area that had no 91 octane and I bought fuel at a "country store" out in the boonies.

Anyone else ever had issues running 89 octane?

Just finished installation of Clegg78's kit and I am impressed! There is a noticable reduction of the seat slope. Raining here now so a test ride is in the works for tomorrow. 350 mile round trip to Knoxville, TN and back should let me know real quick how much it helps.

Just got back from my little test run........Actually made it into a 383 mile trip! This kit works great!

The stock seat padding.....not so much!

The kit all but eliminates the "forward push" of the stock design. (My "man-apples" feel a lot better now than after the last long trip I took!) WELL DONE Clegg78!

  7. Added a radiator guard and bar risers to my 2020 GT today. Waiting on mirror extenders and a "fenda extenda" and then will be looking for a rear fender extension possibly. Heading out for a small group meet-up in southeastern Missouri in a few weeks and trying to get the common mods for slab-touring and safety done before I leave on the trip. Cannot wait to get this Tracer on those lovely Missouri sweepers!
