    Congrats on pulling the trigger!

I wonder what the issue is...maybe the rest of us should expect a service bulletin or recall notice...

Thanks! I am pretty stoked haha

Just got off the phone with one of the major Yamaha stores in DK (TINY store compared to what you see elsewhere but still they knew more than my tiny local shop)
Apparently they'v been ordered by Yamaha DK not to sell anymore as they were deemed to be of "sup par quality"
New ones of i assume better quality should be in by the end of Q1 2022
Little mystified but alas, i'd rather not go aftermarket if i can avoid it.

    Gorgeous bike.

Either we didn't get the black version here in Canada or very few of them. Mostly red ones which didn't appeal to me. Is yours the DCT version?

    Rob

Hey Rob sorry for the late answer! It is not the DCT, i really like the transmission on the VFR especially with the slipper clutch, super slick to operate, i'd go as far as to say its probably going to be the best shifting experience i'll ever have on a motorcycle.

Little side question regarding TC/heated grips on the T9
The heated grips are controlled in the software on the bike right?
I wonder how it works when the grips were not installed from the factory, but plugged in later on (by the dealer)
Does the bike automatically "understand" that the grips are now installed? Same deal with the quick shifter really.
I keep worrying about the fact that i may get "worse" function from the quick shifter / grips because they were not put on originally. They are the Yamaha original parts...
There is 0 reason to think this, right?

  3. Going to see if i can make a deal tomorrow, i'll try go get them to add in the heated grips and quickshifter, basically all i'll be lacking from the GT spec will be suspension and panniers, and those i plan to deal with as i get the funds ;)
    Fingers crossed!
I am very very fond of my VFR, and wont let it go if i cant make a good deal out of it, so time will tell.

Yes that appears to be the case: https://www.yamaha-motor.eu/gb/en/products/motorcycles/sport-touring/tracer-9/accessories/quick-shifter-kit-for-tracer-9/b5u-181a0-01-00/#/

A little pricey for what is basically a 3 position switch since the computer does all the work, however I guess they're basically bundling in some of the R&D cost there.

Yee thought the same, but the fact that i can buy the bike and then little by little get it equipped with many of the GT's features speaks to me.
I'll have a look come next week what kind of deal i can get done trading in my VFR.
Will not pick up the bike before march regardless as thats when my insurance is gonna be active, obviously i'll post pictures in here if i make the trade!
You have all been very helpful, thank you so much and hope to join you guys in the future ;)

  5. Ah yes the suspension ofc!
Thats why the GT is likely much more pricy
Here is a pic of the handlebars of the one i am looking at, dont know if it tells you anything about features
hmm i do like the sound of automatic suspension, but that may be out of budget for me im afraid, i think i am more inclined to go down the path of upgrading the non adjustable suspension later on.
Again thank you for your time

  6. Hi Rob, correct i am EU based (Denmark)
Thank you so much for replying
Well my issue is that i was trying to find something lighter and more mangeable (and cheaper) than my VFR 1200F
However now seeing the level of features and generel spec of the newer gen Tracer 900 i am somewhat ready to pay extra just to try it...
I have since my post (a few hours ago) changed my mind and am now looking at a newer 2021 Tracer 900 (non GT) 0 miles
and i cant seem to understand what i am giving up on by not going for the GT (except panniers) but they can still be bought separatly right? Any difference between 2021 and 2022 models?
Is the electronics package the same?  Attached a pic of the beauty i am looking at

  7. Hi everyone and thank you for your time

Can someone list the key differences between a 2019 tracer 900GT and a 2020-22 version?
I am looking for something ligther than my VFR1200F and am stuck between the VFR 800x and the tracer, however paying full price for a new model is not within my budget. There are plenty of low milage 2019 tracer 900GT's available, any advice on this generation versus the newest gen? Is it worth looking at or should i keep saving up for a 2022 model?
