  1. Hey did you get this figured out? I finally finished my bar swap *today*, by installing the handguards. I had to tap the bar ends for the part you indicate, They came off the stock bars real easy.

If you still need help, let me know. Otherwise show me the bar end mirrors. That is such a cool idea.

  2. Yes, I think I do have that on another page also. I am pretty sure Yamaha contracted the whole TFT UI to Cyber Ninjas, it's such a pile of poo. I am curious how the remaining fuel is calculated and I wouldn't be surprised if it uses the fuel quantity sensors in part. I'll stick with my abacus. It's the only way to know for sure, assuming they didn't honk up the odometer too.

  3. As for the stock mirrors, they're not so great for the killer whale riders. We get a great shot of our massive shoulders, which is nice, but not what we need. I installed the Bike Masters base extenders, but I really miss seeing my shoulders.

  4. Regarding the fuel gauge, I tried this remedy:

    1. Ignore the fuel gauge
    2. Set Trip A up on line 1, display it all the time
    3. Reset Trip A at each fill up
    4. Cypher MPG
    5. Anticipate fuel quantity with a glance to Trip A

So-o-o-o much better than the pretty gauge

Nice but where are you, your profile is nonexistent.  We're always interested in who you are, as well as how that influences your choices.  In this seller's market, how easy was it to find and for how much?

Welcome aboard there's a lot of information here and great people.

Okay, I’m from Phoenix and semi-retired. They had the GT on the floor for over 8 months, go figure. I watched it eventually drop $3k and started working on my acquisition plan. My wife likes her new car very much 😉. I am not above bribery.
So it was way too easy find, like shark bait. I paid $11k plus dealer abuse. Zero regrets. Looking forward to learning all I can thru this site.

I don't mean to troll but I test rode the NC700 DCT and it was the least fun I've ever had on a motorcycle. I'm sure it's very practical but it felt really boring coming from the Kawasaki 650 platform (Er6/Ninja and Versys).

The Tracer is it's polar opposite, nothing but fun fun fun. :) And did I mention fun?

Quite right. I got the NC as a trainer, returning to riding after 20 years. I expected that to last a few years, but I was way ahead of the bike in 4 months. It is a grocery getter, not really a touring bike. I took it on a long trip in December, and caught Tracer GT fever somewhere between Bisbee and Tucson.

  7. Just picked up a 2020 GT, and I am wondering a couple things. I have a Comfort seat, whatever that means. The pilot saddle has wires attached. Is that a heater or what? Also have a "heater" button on the starboard fairing. What is that for, or are they related? (Tried to find the topic already, but couldn't)
