endoz
I did the low profile oil pan mod, shaved fin and mazda drain plug last weekend. Cleaned off all of the old gasket and residue, inspected surface, put on new gasket and put pan back on. Tightened by hand feel to tight enough..but there's a small leak even after i went back in and tightened some more..does anyone have the torque values for those bolts? I'm not comfortable going more without a torque wrench. Would be much appreciated thanks. I found specs for the R1 that said 7.2ftlbs , could they be the same? Premium Member javashot1 Posted April 15, 2016 Premium Member Share Posted April 15, 2016 From personal experience chances are good you've over torqued the bolt. Those threads are very soft! I went ahead with the 2016 pan after my mess up.

endoz
Javashot1, i was referring to all the little bolts that hold the pan on not the drain bolt, i was super careful with that one after hearing about how easy it was to strip.
