Premium Member DavidS Posted August 4, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted August 4, 2017 Mine runs 2-3 mph faster than I think it should. I have clocked it against my wife's car and also the speed flashing nuisance the city put in our neighborhood showing your speed if you are going 5 mpg over the speed limit. Both methods show my speedometer is registering 2-3 mpg faster than I'm actually going. Maybe Yamaha is trying to help us cut down on our speeding tickets...... isteve
I was told a long time ago that the speed error is intentional by manufactures so they won't be blamed in speeding ticket disputes. I've heard a few other theory's also not sure I believe any of them. I just know every bike I've owned the indicator has been a little enthusiastic.
