09ing
Oil level light has come on twice. First time it came on and went off while riding. Last time came on and stayed on while riding until the bike was shut off restarted and did not come back on and has not come back on yet. Oil level is fine. Anybody ever had this happen? Thanks, Rob out.
nsmiller
Yes, somewhat common. My bike wants the oil level to be at the very top of the sight glass in order to prevent the light from coming on. Its a level sensor not a pressure sensor.
patkin
Yeah I got a good scare after my first oil change. I first filled it to just over half sight glass and half way through my next ride the light popped on. Babied it home and filled it up to the top of sight glass and all is good. 3banger
Yep it’s actually a true warning with a level indicator. Tells you “hey might want to stop and check your oil leve and add some if needed”. Pressure based oil monitoring is screaminging at you “SHUT YOUR ENGING OFF NOW DMAGE IS BEING DONE!” Also freaked the first time I saw it post oil change. Now filled to top of site glass mark and all is good. Dose anybody know if this motor also has oil pressure monitoring?
09ing
Not that I know of. No pressure gauge, no auto shut down, zip.
nsmiller
Tip over sensor is about the only thing it has.
