mattgif
Just put down the deposit on a 2016 FJ 09. Signing on the dotted line on Tuesday. My loaded wee-strom was stolen--cover, disc lock and all--from in front of my apartment in DC, so I thought I'd take that as an opportunity to go faster. And at $7600 out-the-door, who could pass up the triple? Anyway, excited to have a new commuter. Time to start farkling. Happy for any advice on tailbags or top cases, covers, and security. Sorry, only images I have so far are from the dealer. I'll update with more once I've cleaned it up. Nice to meet you all!
mattgif
Well, now I'm in an odd position. The police just found my V-Strom. The insurance company agreed to a settlement, but we haven't signed any paperwork. So... I think I own two motorcycles? There are worse fates. Premium Member DavidS Posted August 21, 2018 Premium Member Share Posted August 21, 2018 Trade one in on a garage, so you don't lose another one to theft............
Supporting Member texscottyd Posted August 21, 2018 Supporting Member Share Posted August 21, 2018 So... I think I own two motorcycles?. My wife reminds me regularly of the days that I only owned two motorcycles. As you said, there are worse things that can happen...
mattgif
Not sure I can erect a garage in the street. But yeah, definitely keeping it in a more secure location... with a big ass chain through the rear wheel.
pattonme
make sure to put the chain inside suitable plastic sheathing so you don't scratch and ding the hell out of your wheels every time you secure it. Your local hardware store has the stuff.
