Installed the Seat Concepts kit on my 2020 Tracer 900GT. Only got in about 15 miles after the install, but my initial impression is that it is a vast improvement over the stock seat! Forward lean is all but gone and in the low position I can still flat-foot the bike. More extensive testing will be required this week!

Out of curiosity ... what's your inseam measurement?  I've had Seat Concepts on a couple of bikes and liked them but have short legs and can't really afford any more height.  Although, a little more seat-to-peg distance would be nice for my creaky, old knees.  🧓🦵

I say go for it Heavy, you can be the guinea pig.  It won't be hard to find a replacement stock seat if it goes bad, I know I have one collecting dust in my garage.  Along with a Corbin that I don't use.

    Challenge accepted!    😉

  3. I'd be happy to get the seat a little lower, if possible.  Think the Seat Concepts goes the other way, a bit.

Removing foam from the back of the seat should help with the height and the slope.

She's a two-fer, if there's enough foam for me to scoop some out.

Still haven't really got a definitive response yet.  I may just have to jump in and see for myself.

How do you like that seat cover?

Update on the seat cover ... I rode 4-1/2 hours today with one fuel stop and one quick purchase.  The seat cover was great.  Before the cover, I'd start to get uncomfortable with swamp-ass after an hour or so.  Never felt it at all today.  The long period in the saddle revealed that my creaky, old knees are the weak spot now. 😪

  5. I just spent the last 45 minute searching to see if I could find any info on reshaping the stock seat ... and didn't find anything.

I'm wondering if there is enough foam in the seat to do a "seat slope mod" without raising the front of the seat.  I'm inseam challenged and thought I might remove foam from the rear of the seat to lower it and reduce the slope.

    Anyone gone this route?

Jury is still out on the shorty screen.  Rode a couple hundred miles yesterday.  High position put the wind at the top of my helmet visor and low position puts the wind at my helmet chin-bar.  Really windy/gusty day and direction made a big difference.  Certainly got a LOT more bugs splattered on my visor.

Still tweaking to be done, but it sure looks better than the original.

I decided to abandon the cut down GIVI.  After my first test, I cut the shield down another 3/4", so that it is even with the top of my GPS and added a couple of 1/2" spacers under the lower retaining bolts.  Still had the wind hitting me about the chin-bar of my helmet, with lots of buffeting.  The cut GIVI looks good but, for me, the stock screen, with a spoiler is a far better option.  Certainly not as much air on a hot day but a more enjoyable setup.

My, used, 2020 900 GT came with a GIVI screen on it and the OEM sceen in a bag.  I was curious about the OEM screen (since everyone says it's so bad) so I installed it as soon as I got the bike home.  With a spoiler added, I find the OEM screen works fine.  I've had the GIVI screen for sale for ages with no takers, even down to $50.  I've been looking around for a shorty screen for summer so I figured, rather than buying another screen, I'd see what I could do with the GIVI.

I cut it so it's in line with the top of my GPS.  Just need to mount it up and try it out.

Just  got 15000km on my Tracer 900 and it was time to change tires. Original rear was basically done. Because I’m going for 4 days trip this week it was time for new “shoes”. This time Dunlop Sportmax Sportroad2. At the same time there was a time for oil change (Rotella T6 full synthetic Diesel engine oil). When I finished took her for 250 km ride. Rolling so much smoother…cornering way better and faster - very neutral and stable. And transmission smooth like a butter. So far so good.

I put a set of RoadSport II on mine too.  Don't have a ton of miles on them yet but they seem like a solid choice.

  10. HJC, RPHA II PRO, with a SENA com system, DS-X1, with a heated visor for my sled and an old ARAI XD-3 for putzing around on my Honda 250 Rally.

RPHA II is by far the lightest.  XD-3 flows the most air on hot days.
