  1. Ya, they're very popular. I think I lucked out when I got $600 off on mine, plus they installed a bunch of accessories no charge.
  2. Sure is a sweet powerplant. Not the same HP as the Tracer, but I'm satisfied. This is the first year Honda brought the Transalp to North America. I'm sure they will bring different iterations in time.
  3. Up and down on is standard on the Transalp. Down is perfect, up works best with lots of RPM and throttle.
  4. My 900 GT was the first bike I've owned with cruise, and I loved it. The lack of cruise was, almost, a deal breaker for me with theTransalp. I use cruise all the time in any vehicle and I'm looking forward to getting my Veridian kit.
  5. Theory is that Honda is trying not to step on Africa Twin sales by equipping the Transalp too well. Basic suspension, no CC, no IMU, etc.
  6. So much speculation (and whining πŸ˜‰) about the lack of CC. Like I mentioned though, the Veridian system is affordable. There's other, more upscale, CC options too. Like most bikes, there's lots of areas of the bike to upgrade/modify to make it suit you. I bet there's a lot of people that buy bikes and just ride them as they are from the dealership ... until they start hanging out on forums and "learn" about all the bike's shortcomings. 😁
  7. Actually, I thought the worst part of that video was the amount of time Ryan spent talking about the WhateverCam 360.
  8. The more I ride mine the more I like it. Every bike has its shortfalls. You either learn to live with it or learn to fix it. My Veridian cruise control should arrive soon so that'll be one thing crossed off the list. Don't know of I'd even bother with getting an ECU flash, if one comes available. I don't think it runs that bad.
  9. Planning on Bancroft ... weather dependent. Roads up here are still covered with sand and salt. We got a few inches of snow last night, which didn't help.
  10. Well, figure I might as well finish where I started. The Tracer is gone. I posted it up for sale and a guy offered me a very fair amount to take it off my hands. Looking forward to focusing on putting miles on my Transalp. Good luck and rubber side down to all.

Nice sled. Love the XC's. Can't make it out on my phone ... 850 or 650?
  13. He's certainly pushing it. I'll never approach that type of thrashing with mine.
  14. Dress right and it's not that bad. There are lots of people that regularly deal with colder. Worse I've dealt with, here, was a couple of -44Β°C days. Hydro went out and nothing would start so no generators for power. Lucky for us we were in a place with a wood stove so we were warm. Pain in the ass with no running water though.
  15. We've had a crazy mild winter so far ... think -10ΒΊC is about the coldest. A few days were up to +6ΒΊC. I would have ridden but the roads are a mess of salt and sand. It can get cold here, and I'm not even that far north.
  16. No response here yet and no reply to my PM ... have the lunatics been left to run the asylum? πŸ€ͺ Hellooo Administrators? No internet on your Christmas holiday?
  17. Work a deal on the seats and tell him to throw the passenger seat in the garbage. That way he'll save a couple of bucks on shipping and pass the savings on to you.
  18. Nice to have company. Pain in the ass, isn't it? Oh, and same thing happened this morning. I've changed my password so many times I may well be using the wrong one now. πŸ˜„
  19. It's like the commercial on TV ... you just need to go nose blind, πŸ˜‰
  20. Anyone else having problems logging in? For the last while, every time I try to access my account I get an error message, saying my information is incorrect. Try a second time and my account gets locked. The only way I can get access to the site is to change my password ... more than a bit of a pain in the ass. Use the "Change Password" function and I'm in, which is interesting when my account is supposedly "Locked". Try and login later, even within hours of changing my password, and I get the error message again. It seems that the "Try again in 14 minutes" is bogus too because I initially tried waiting but would get the locked message even days later. I use either my phone or my computer to access the site so it's not like I'm in lots of different locations, using different machines. Initially, I was worried that my account had been hacked after all the bot posts we were getting but it's been going on for a while now. I tried reaching out to admin, though the "Contact Us" at the bottom of the page, and haven't heard back. Changing my password every time I want to access the site is getting old very fast. I know I bought a Honda but I still have my Tracer. Really not feeling the love! 🀬🀬
  21. I've used Magic Wrap on the left side of any bike I installed heated grips on. Helps a lot. Make sure you apply it from the right to left so the tape overlaps are covered and don't peel up. Cheap solution that worked for me.
  22. I was doing some research on Scotoiler stuff for my new Transalp and came across some Touratech crash bars at 1/2 price, and from a Canadian supplier no less. Maybe someone could use them. Sure won't fit my TA. πŸ˜‰ https://motomotto.ca/search?type=product&options[prefix]=last&options[unavailable_products]=show&q=fj-09 https://motomotto.ca/products/fairing-crash-bars-yamaha-fj-09-15-17?_pos=1&_sid=a5e0ce787&_ss=r
  23. FWIW ... I removed the cover from my seat and carved a bunch of foam out of the rear. It helped with the forward slope and the height. Not a huge change in height. Maybe 3/4", or so. Basically, left the ridge around the back of the seat to keep the original profile, then scooped out the centre section. The yellow, sort of, outlines where I removed foam.
