  1. I do like Zack's reviews and it's kinda cool that he's pretty impressed with the TA. Have to agree that it's on the top of my ratings board too. 😁
  2. Can't blame us for all of it. A fair bit grown in the US. ; )
  3. I found the first Tracer I made a deal on had an outstanding lien when I was standing in the owner's driveway to pick it up. Told me they couldn't clear the lien until they had my money. I walked away. The girl at the bank was surprised when I came back with the bank draft and had her cancel it.
  4. Not looking forward getting to the air filter ... especially the first time. Figure it'll be similar to my old V-Strom ... inconvenient, but no big deal once you've done it once or twice. Think I got out for my last, last ride of the season last Thursday. It's getting too cold ... I had to use my mini torch on the lock on my utility trailer this morning to thaw it.
  5. I think Ride365 scared him off. He hasn't been here since Sunday afternoon, when he deleted his last post. Probably a young guy trying to do a mod on the cheap. We've all done it at some point, to some degree.
  6. A vice may be a little extreme. I'd try a strap wrench first. Less likely to dent/scratch/crush it.
  7. For 2023 & 2024 models, the heated grips are an option. I have the low seat on my Transalp and I can almost flatfoot with a 30" inseam.
  8. That sucks. What was your total range for the tank? Cooler weather would be a factor and keeping up with traffic on the 401 (?) wouldn't be optimum cruising speed.
  9. Transalp is pretty sweet. Check out reviews. Very competent road bike, with some gravel/dirt capabilities. I plan to use it to tour. Very comfortable and better wind management than my Tracer. I have family around the west ... Kelowna, Lethbridge, Vancouver and Victoria. Plan to couch surf ... um ... visit, most of them next summer. I got out for, what I think was, my last ride of the season. Even with handguards, heated grips and lots of layers, I got home with a chill after more than an hour at 4ΒΊC.
  10. I'll sell you mine and deliver it in the spring. The bike has just under 22,000 kms on it now. It would have another 4,500 by the time it got to you. 😏

Glad you ended up with a bike, at least ... even if your quest for inexpensive was blown out of the water. Just make sure you get enough smiles from it to offset the BS.
  12. Love the Transalp, although weather has been crap so I've only ridden it about 300 miles. Look way down at the bottom of the forums list. There's a thread about other bikes. I've blabbed about it there ... if you want more info.
  13. Try one of those add-on windshield spoilers. I'm 5'10" and ran the stock screen with a spoiler all the time. Worked well, for me. You can pick one up cheap on ebay or cheaper on Aliexpress.
  14. Man, I love Iron Pony. Used to travel to the area a fair bit for work. Inventory and selection like you have never seen anywhere.
  15. It has been out in Europe for a year and the base architecture (Hornet) a year prior to that. Think the kinks should be ironed ... at least I hope so.
  16. Worked for me. πŸ˜‰
  17. I have thick (fat?) calves and I don't know if I could get the upper of the Corozal secured. The Belize offers all the foot/ankle protection.
  18. Yup ... in, less than on. I definitely had more room to shift forward and back on the Tracer. Feels much more natural between the knees, for me. Not sure if it's because it's easier to position my heels or just that the tank is wider at the back. I'd be happy to let you sit on it if you're up in this area (no keys in the ignition though πŸ€ͺ). Okay. Just did a little research ... think the knee difference for me is due to footpeg location. On the Tracer, my thighs angle down more than the TA so my knees don't nestle the back of the tank ... and I have the lower seat on my TA which adds to the angle because my butt is another 20cm lower.
  19. How much do the handguards hit the screen? I have a PUIG touring screen, that I cut down, on my 2020. I'm just using the stock mounting brackets and the bottom of the screen would contact the front bodywork on my bike. I got 4 hard rubber spacers (about 1/4" thick) and used longer bolts. That moves the screen out enough to clear when I set it in the low position. Mine is a 2020 so I may be suggesting how to fix your peach with my apple repair. πŸ˜‰
  20. Can't speak for Ride365 but I know I don't enjoy the way you pontificate on most topics that come up. Should I simply bow to your superior intellect and experience? Oh, and not to be pedantic but that would be a pissing match you refuse to get in, not a passing match.
  21. Certainly noticed. Opinions are like assholes ... we all have them but, because you have one it doesn't mean you have to be one. πŸ˜†
