I took the GPS bracket and cradle for my GARMIN 396LMT-S off my Tracer. It's one of the above-the-gauge-cluster GPS mounts that I adapted the 396 cradle to, without using balls and arms, to minimize vibration. Works well. Asking CDN$50 complete. I'm in the Huntsville, North Bay, Parry Sound area of Ontario.

What drained the battery in the first place?

What dazzler said, that I said. 😉 I also find the Tracer's power inspires me to do things I shouldn't ... I ALWAYS feel the urge to pass any vehicle I come up behind ... I find myself cruising at silly speeds ... roll-ons in 2nd and 3rd are just too fun. I'm concerned I'm going to get myself hurt, or in trouble. I know the Transalp still has over 80 HP (in North American configuration) but I'm hoping it'll give me more of that feeling of being happy to just roll along and enjoy the ride. Who knows. Maybe I'm just blowing smoke up my own ass. Still, I'll only be dealing with 1 bike for insurance and the like, and it'll be easier to focus farkles ... and who doesn't like shiny new things anyway. 🙂

The seat height is listed as 850 mm for both, the Transalp and the Tracer. The Transalp is narrower than the Tracer too so it should be more manageable. I've ordered a low seat for the Transalp which reduces the height by another 20 mm. It should be fine for my stubby, short legs. 😉 The weather looks like cancelling next week is no real loss. The week after looks much more promising (if you can believe the WeatherNetwork).

Couldn't resist today. I have the Tracer up for sale and I'm trying not to add miles but a 27ºC (80ºF) day in Central Ontario, in October, deserves to be celebrated.

I had my GARMIN mounted on one of these. I was totally surprised by the deal. I was thinking I might be able to squeeze them for $100 in parts/accessories. They came to me with $600 off! Their showroom was already stuffed with snowmobiles so who knows their thoughts. After all the rave reviews about the Transalp, I figured I'd have to fight to get one. SOLD!! 😁

Mine is a 2020, with 22,000 kms. I'm starting at $10,750 and seeing what happens. I'm, kinda, in a push to sell. I had considered looking seriously at the Transalp in the spring. My local dealer has one coming in a couple of weeks. He's worried about it sitting in inventory for the winter so he made me a deal I couldn't walk away from. I need to get cash together soon.

I put mine up for sale. One year and 12,000 kms and I'm moving on. Where I live there are tons of quiet dirt roads. I bought a dual-sport a couple of years ago to explore. I want to travel on my bike and the dual-sport is only a 250 so I picked up the Tracer. I hate owning 2 bikes ... storage, insurance, etc. Went out yesterday and made a deal on a 2024 Honda Transalp. I figure it should be able to replace the two bikes I have now, quite nicely.

Sucks to hear about the theft. Often, you're better off if they don't recover it. Who knows what the thieving douche-bags have done to it. Good luck. I hope it works out for you.

During a recent trip to Michigan ... a wind farm, just north of Strathroy, ON. Supposedly, the installation can power about 20,000 homes.

Star Lake Rd is for the dual-sport. For me, the Tracer goes up Tally Ho-Swords. You're far more adventurous than me. 👍

@piotrek sorry we didn't manage to connect. Glad you had a good trip, even with some weather challenges. I'm still working my way home from Michigan. My weather has been a lot better than yours was, but I'll bet your roads were a lot more fun. 😉

It's ebay ... reach out to the seller for confirmation of fit. I looked at those but opted for the, rubber-topped, FJR footpegs off Amazon for $20.

I have a Honda CRF 250 Rally. It is a riot ... lightweight, simple, moderate power, efficient and sure-footed. Can't go wrong with a small displacement dual sport. Buy a used one and you'll get most of your money back out of it after a few years of fun. Just don't plan on doing lots of freeway travel.

The motels are a good choice. It's getting chilly overnight around here. Only 8ºC this morning. Let me know if you find any good places to stay. Are you riding straight up HWY 11? When are you passing through the Burks Falls area?

Good looking loop. Are you planning on hotels or camping? I'd like to explore up there on my dualsport. Lots of lesser traveled gravel.

The guy is doing an RTW ride. Don't think his bike is getting hosed down that often.

Where are you heading? Certainly more good roads for my dual-sport in this area. Much fewer options for the Tracer close by.

My wife and I finally finish taking the hay off our farm and it meant I was free to put some miles on my Tracer. I have family in Cornwall, ON that I haven't seen in a long time and a friend, in Kingston, ON, who has been quite sick. I put together a fun loop, loaded it onto my GPS, packed my bags and headed out. I left on a Sunday morning and returned the following Friday. Actually rode about 2-1/2 days with the rest of the time spent hanging out. Trip ended up being about 1,500 kms total with the leg between Cornwall and Kingston ridden in downpours. I'm out of practice with the motorcycle travel and found myself getting fixated on my destinations. The end point focus meant I didn't stop to take many pictures. Gotta work on that. The bonus was that I managed to get home on my last day in time to have dinner with my wife on her first official day of retirement. Ready to hit the road. Eastern entrance to Algonquin Park. Day started cool (9ºC, 48ºF) but warned up nicely. Stopped for a healthy lunch of poutine (🙄) in Barry's Bay and enjoyed the monument across the street, dedicated to the test pilot for the CF-105, AVRO Arrow. https://zurakowskipark.ca/index.php Stooped for a break when the rain eased. My friend got a pic of me as I was leaving his cottage. Gotta love the pumpkin turn signals. Nice loop with some fun roads. I tried to stay off the main highways as much as I could.
