  1. Maybe keep in mind the dusk and dawn for animal activity. It would suck pretty hard to hit some woodland creature.
  2. Lots of squiggly looking lines on the map of your area. Looks like fun. Welcome to the group.
  3. Sure, the OEM tires should go 7,500 kms. As was mentioned though, the OEM tires aren't anything great and, depending on the riding you've been doing, they've likely started to square off anyway. Like I said initially, it's all up to you ... how you ride, what you expect from the tires and your level of security. It's true that there's nothing like a fresh set of hoops to make your bike feel transformed. Why not put on a fresh set and optimize your trip. I always keep an old set of tires so I have back-up if I get an irreparable puncture. Does you no good during your trip but gives you options when at home. You know that (more so in Canada) you rarely find a dealer with "your tire" in stock. Means you aren't forced into parking the bike while waiting for tires to come in, or buying something you really don't want. The OEM tires, with 5,000 kms would be a nice pair for back-up.
  4. How many kms do you plan to ride? Are you going to do your 500 km/day for the full 2 weeks or having the odd day off? I just changed the tires on my 2020 @ 14,000 kms. The front was well used but the rear was certainly finished. I'd say that new tires before your trip all depends on your plans. With only 5,000 kms on the odometer of your bike, I wouldn't expect any serious repairs needed ... of course, the unexpected can always occur. In 2008, I took off for a month trip on my V-Strom (about 35,000 kms on it, when leaving home). I took tools to adjust my chain, a tire plug kit and a compact air pump. Over my 14,000 km trip, I got an oil change and adjusted the chain, at a friend's, in Victoria, BC and a new rear tire in Kelowna. Fuel stops early is great advice and don't always believe GPS about open locations. I had a scare when a planned fuel stop in the middle of nowhere Nevada ended up being a vacant building. 😡
  5. Sorry we didn't connect. I noticed the other Tracer in the picture but didn't see it when I was there. Did you arrive later?
  6. Did you go to Bancroft Rick? I got my lazy ass moving and made the trek. First real ride of the year ... about 500 kms round trip ... my ass isn't in "saddle shape" yet. 😬 Glad I went ... beautiful weather and it gave me a chance to catch up with a bunch of guys I used to ride with (The Road Toads) and haven't seen for years. You can see my blue 2020 about 2/3 of the way up the hill.
  7. Looks good ... the racks on their own look very unobtrusive. I had GIVI racks on my old V-Strom and they were considerably heavier tubing. Much more noticeable when the hard cases weren't on.
  8. Early season yet. Don't give up. It'll come.
  9. Three hours for me just to get there ... don't expect me to show. πŸ˜‰
  10. Hey guys. Cleaning up before riding season and have a few things to move on. Givi Windscreen. Came on the bike when I bought it. Doesn't look like it was on for long. Switched to the stock screen on day #1, and it works for me. Don't need the GIVI. Asking $50. KLIM Adventure gloves, long, large, Used but in good shape. Asking $50. KLIM Hydration backpack. Used. Asking $50. GRYPHON riding pants. XL, but waist feels closer to an L. Very little wear. Asking $75. Located about 40 minutes north of Huntsville, in Ontario. PM me for more pictures, if you're interested.
  11. Welcome. Apart from the seat,no gripes at all.πŸ‘ If you road-test a red one, you'll end up buying one. 😊
  12. Welcome to the party. Looks like you're parked somewhere near The Barrens, off Southwood Rd. Maybe?
  13. Darkside me, Baby!! 😳
  14. But it will only retard the ignition is there is knock.
  15. Twern't me ... +6ΒΊC here but roads are still messy and my blue, 2020 GT is still tucked away in storage. Soon, I hope. sigh
  16. Specially for those of us that are just wanting to ride, not ACTUALLY riding. πŸ˜ƒ
  17. That won't work if she's looking to collect his insurance money. πŸ˜‰
  18. I've been using the newer (newish, newest?) orange on almost everything lately. Not permanent, like the red but stronger than the blue, although I've never had anything loosen, unintentionally, after using the blue.
  19. Probably wouldn't hurt to ask at the source. More questions? Just call us at 218-326-1794 https://roxspeedfx.com/pages/rox-speed-fx-motorcycle-bar-riser-fitment-chart-bmw-honda-yamaha-kawasaki-suzuki-ktm-triumph
  20. I can only hope my Tracer and I are still getting out there 8 years from now. Good for you!
  21. You can't have that many miles on your 2019. I'd agree with Rick123 and Wintersdark. A big expense for nominal gain. Just my personal, cheap-ass, opinion though. πŸ™ƒ
  22. I passed by my storage unit and looked at mine. It's -16ΒΊC (3ΒΊF) this morning. So not likely gonna be riding the Tracer anytime soon. Problem is that we had a few warm and sunny days so the snowmobile trails are screwed too. πŸ˜ͺ
  23. Think you should have put "needs" in quotation marks. 😁 Probably a lot of people out there riding pretty stock bikes. Good morning Rick.
  24. Story sounds more like an ad for the tour company. πŸ€”
