I'm sure there's worse but drive across Ontario sometime. ð My wife and I rode my V-Strom to BC a number of years ago. We had to cut through Michigan, Wisconsin and North Dakota, rather than go through Ontario. She couldn't manage long days on the bike and hotels were closer together in the US.

'19 Tracer 900 air filter service...
Heavy replied to Garz747's topic in FJ-09 Tracer 900 General Discussions
Hey Garz747 ... judging from the weather forecast, you've got plenty of time to change the filter before you ride again. ð Where in Barrie are you? I lived around Burton and Bayview until a couple years ago. -
Welcome Lonerider. Did you just get the Tracer or just find the forum? I hope you're in some part of Canada's banana belt ... Turned winter here ... I'm getting ready to get my snowmobile out. Think the Tracer is done for this year.

You and me, both!

$2.60 handlebar "Grip Puppies"
Heavy replied to Brian's topic in FJ-09 Tracer 900 General Discussions
I thought about it and figured it must have been a fluke situation. If the sun did it, imagine the failure rate for people running their grip heaters on high. ðē -

I hope that doesn't happen to mine. I really dislike the stock grips. -

Just bought 2 sets of those. Wanted the thin for both but the local, Canadian, supplier only had original for my Tracer. I like them, although I prefer the thin, which I got for my CRF250 Rally. They seem like they'll last better than the foam. -
Sure ... and the R3 lever is less than $11 at MR Cycles (https://www.mrcycles.com/oemparts/p/yamaha/2ms-e6340-00-00/push-lever-assy), but that's also south of the border. Different story altogether up here, in the Great White North.

Anyone got the R3 clutch part on their Tracer? I'd like to have the wider clutch engagement range on my 2020 GT but the R3 part is over $50 at my local dealer. The guys down south are saying around $10 for the part. Anyone in Canada found a more reasonable option? I'm not cheap (okay, I actually am cheap ð) but the price difference is outrageous.

Picture of heated grips connector?

I put a set of Grip Buddies on mine. Easy-peasy. https://www.originalbeemerbuddies.com/ -
Funny ... I'll often comment to my wife that someone in a store or parking lot "looks old." ... She'll just smile and say "Ya, he's probably the same age as you."

My wife says I'm a 15 year old fool in an 80 year old body. ðĪŠ

I'm over 60 and find it's getting harder every year. Top case or not, I usually have to kick my leg up and slide my foot across the seat, heel down. I keep telling myself I'm going to start stretching ... yep, any day now. ð

Hi Mark. I sent you a PM. Are you still around?

Vacation days? I'm retired ... Life is all Saturdays. ð

Let me know when you're passing through next. Bonus with the Shinkos is the price. I had a set on my old V-Strom.

Hey. Figure I should step up and say hi. Bought my 2020 GT about 2 weeks ago. Really loving it. I moved to north of Huntsville a couple of years ago and realized that, if you don't ride dirt/gravel, you don't have many roads to choose from so I picked myself up a 2018 CRF250 Rally. Great little machine for the backroads and snowmobile trails around here. Started to get the itch to do some traveling again and the Rally just wasn't cutting it as a highway machine. Had lusted for an FJ/Tracer from the time the bike was introduced. Finally broke down and overcame my resistance to having 2 bikes. Found a blue GT with 12,000 kms on it for a fair price. Feeling like I have a pretty perfect combination of bikes. The season is pretty much done here and I'm already looking at destinations for the spring.

Roll Call: Tri-Cities (KW, Cambridge) or SW Ontario

I'm a long way off from you guys (north of Huntsville) but, maybe next year. -
@betoney Man. Scenery like that AND 80 degrees. Spectacular! ð

Managed to get out for a couple hundred kilometres on some local roads. The fall colors are past their peak but there's still some beautiful spots. Couldn't be too silly. Some areas were wet roads with leaves and pine needles all over the place. Bonus was that I didn't get rained on! ð

My wife and I had a similar, wobbly, driveway edge. I rented a cement saw, chalked a line and cut the edge of the driveway straight, We were able to make a very tidy border with paving stones. Looks like your wife is particular about her designs. She might appreciate the tidy edge. ð ... be aware of the wind if you do cut it. We did ours on a breezy day and I didn't use water. Ended up washing a number of the neighbor's cars after I was done ... the dust was THICK. ðĨī

Hey B. Saw the Westerville in your location and wondered. Got mine insured and plated today. WOW, what a machine! My "quick trip" to get gas ended up being a 100 km ride home from the gas station.

Funny ... I haven't been on there in years. Sold my Super Strom (ð) in 2015 and haven't been back. Just picked up a 2020 Tracer GT yesterday. Been riding smaller bikes and miss something for the longer mileage days.

You don't seem to have much company Rick123. You mentioned you had a V-Strom previously. Did you hang out on Stromtroopers, with a very similar username?
