  1. I live near KC. Several friends went to the Chiefs game last night. Not very bright imo but none have ssid "oh, it wasn't too bad!" When I sat in tree stands during snow/sleet storms, old age finally has brought wisdom. Less fun, but not hypothermia again!
  2. So, all we have learmed anout chain quality, o-ring, adjustment, etc has been for naught? Nah.
  3. As I age I seem to get shorter. The Tracer 900gt is too tall now. And wide. The saddlebags suck. I like the power, cruise, etc. My 1000 mi days are likely history as is camping which I loved dearly. Now my jaunts are more spontaneous and shorter duration than b4. I may look for decent mpg, reasonable power, accessorised. While I have the time, and tools doing beyond minimum maintenece dors not appeal. 65 yrs of riding and several 100m miles may be close to ending BUT! I AIN'T DEAD YET!! Life long back issues make cruisers no option. Sportbike more upright is what I gotta have. Don't want a Scooter but.......
  4. I used to attend a "chain gang" rally in OK, benefited CASA. Good rally and good cause. Steve ran it and swore he got ungodly miles out of chains using transmission fluid. Cheap and clean too.
  5. I replaced the swing arm bearings on my R1100RT BMw. They are tapered and if you dont pay attention to installation you will chase your tail to correct problems from misassembly.
  6. Apology not necessary. You have fun where you tide and thats what counts. Composite mpg on my '20 is 50.2 so given where I live and no limitations as you have that's pretty comparable. Enjoy!
  7. The OM for my 2020 describes panel removal sequencially. My shop manual shows more detail.
  8. I had a KLR650 which originally was too tall for me and pretty heavy. Had a 6.5 gal gas tank tho. I'm not familiar with the KLX230. Hope others here are and will respond.
  9. Loved my KLR, almost bullet proof. There are lots of options for all of us and all bikes. Some really creative stuff on ADV rides!
  10. No Just loosen slightly enough to rotate the line a little bit.
