  1. I tried on a bunch of different helmets this winter and found the Shoei GT Air 2 fit my head the best and had the features I was looking for. I finally managed to test it out on a few rides. The helmet is light, extremely comfortable, and the venting is as many described - I can feel the air flowing over the top of my head! The only drawback is that the wind noise is a LOT louder than I was expecting. From the different reviews in this thread, I was thinking I might not even have to wear ear plugs when riding. I have no regrets, but definitely won't be doing any extended riding without earplugs. I should mention I'm riding a FJ09 with the Puig sport screen, so the helmet isn't protected from the wind.
  2. Years ago I took the FAST school at Shannonville. A great investment, made me a much better rider on the street. You have the option of taking your own bike or using one of theirs.
  3. Glad to hear that I'm not a delinquent on cable maintenance after all. Before my FJ I had a VFR for over 20 years and never lubed the throttle cables once. It got a little sticky once, but the issue was at the grip, not the cables.
  4. There's also vanity to consider. I don't like the styling of the latest generation of tracers nearly as much as the 2020 and earlier versions.
  5. Not sure if your '16 model has two TC modes or just on/off. My '17 will briefly loft the front wheel in TC1 but not in TC2.
  6. Glad to hear it's working out so far. The hardware for the hand guards is just a simple flat oval plate that shifts the guards out by about 3/4". Wouldn't be that hard to make if you wanted to keep the original guards
  7. I recently purchased a 2017 FJ 09 that came with the Puig touring windscreen mounted. I'm not a big fan of the touring screen, and am thinking of getting the Puig sport screen. I'd like to keep the touring windscreen for rides in wet/cold weather, but figure I'd use the sport screen most of the time. Does the sport screen use the same brackets as the touring screen? It would be great if I could swap them by just removing the screws on the windshield itself and not have to touch the mounting brackets.
