  1. Thanks to betoney for his reply. Based on that, I ordered the saddlebags, and the mounting hardware, and it fit perfectly. I also ordered the trunk, and I have that. But the mounting hardware for the trunk is nowhere to be found, at least in the USA. 2 to 3 weeks, I am told. I have the bags on, but I am having trouble with the keys. I can get them to work, eventually. But they are stiff, and sometimes I will fiddle with them for a minute or more before I get to the exact right place that the key will turn. Does it need lube - or just breaking in?
  2. This is an addendum to my initial post. A few days ago, I got an email from GIVI. They have a 'new' trunk and sidecases set. They call it the Trekker Alaska. And they say, on the website, that it will definitely fit on a 2023 Tracer. One of the earlier replies to my first post said that the GIVI trunk from his 2021 Tracer fit right on the 2024 Tracer. So, I'm really thinking that the Trekker Alaska is going to be my trunk of choice. The open question is: saddlebags. Again, the GIVI Trekker Alaska bags WILL fit on the 2023 Tracer. Does that mean...the bags that fit on a 2023 Tracer WILL fit on a 2024?
  3. Hi.

I bought a Tracer 9 GT+ with the Pro Pack a month ago. Bike came with a GPS stay, which was useless as it reduced access to inserting and removing the key.

I took the stay off and added a RAM mount type ball (Ultimate Add Ons) which alows me to use RAM mounts. I use my Garmin Zumo XP.

I did try the Garmin Motorise service but did not like the three or four thinks you needed to do to connect each time, and the connection kept droping.

    Stuart.

Hey, Stuart, that is useful information!

I had to search for a couple of things.  I had no idea what 'Ultimate Add Ons" was, but I found ultimateaddons.com.  I'm thinking that is what you meant.

And, I found Ram Mounts: rammount.com

I looked at both sites, and I'm not sure exactly what your setup is.  Do you have a picture, or a better description of where/how you mounted the GPS?  Mine is a Zumo XT.

  4. I'm 'fairly' new on this forum, but I have a problem that may be a problem for anyone else new. This has happened to me a couple of time, but today set me off. I entered the forum and put 'gps' in the search field. It returned zero results. I added to the search field: 'garmin gps'. The screen immediately told me I needed to wait 890 seconds before I could do another search. WHY?????? What I want to find out is, are there other members that have a 2024 Tracer, and an aftermarket GPS, what kind they have, and how is it mounted. Why can't I search?
  5. First, about the helmet and the stock saddlebag. I appreciate the folks that said, yes, a helmet will fit. However, the XD4 has a bill. It does not fit in the saddlebag with the bill. And...yes, I can take off the bill. But I'm not going to do that every time I get off the bike and want to put the helmet in the saddlebag. That's on me, I know it. But I need saddlebags that hold my helmet. "My" helmet. Second - two excellent suggestions for a trunk. I'm going to get one of those - not sure which one yet. But...replacement saddlebags? Anybody know of any?
  6. I have a 2024 Tracer 9 GT+, and I am really having a hard time finding accessories. The local dealer has tried hard to help - but the catalogs he has just don't mention the 2024 model. He simply has not been able to determine if the 2024 model can use accessories that fit earlier models. So that's my first Q. Does anyone know if the 2024 is radically different from earlier models - specifically as pertains to luggage. I just learned that the stock bags on the back are a 'total of 30 liters'. I'm not a math wizard, but I think that works out to 15 liters per bag. I saw somewhere that a helmet will fit. Not mine! Arai XD4 - no way will it fit. I need some new bags. Something that will fit 'my' helmet. I need a trunk. A pretty good sized one. 45 liters - minimum. I have contacted Givi USA, and also the Givi site in Italy. USA office replied and said they are waiting for Italy to make positive recommendations, but the 22/23 model accessories "might" fit. "Ask the dealer." The dealer - well, my GT+ is the only one ever seen by the shop. I am planning on a trip. From southern New Mexico to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska on the Beaufort Sea. I need to have more luggage capacity! The big question. Does anyone have ideas, pictures, experience with finding some luggage for this new Yamaha model?
  7. A couple of things... This is my first post. And I don't have a Tracer...yet. I did have 2 FJRs - a 2005 (106,000 miles) and a 2016 (48,000 miles). I'm currently living in Costa Rica, and...today I am going to the BMW Dealer in San Jose...to fight for my money back. I have had 2 F850GS models since I have been here, and between them, I have been stranded with a totally dead bike, 4 times. This time...the dash said "ABS fault". And it would not start. Good battery, no start. Towed to the dealer (4th time), and they tell me that the GPS caused the problem. Yes, I wrote that correctly. The GPS (an accessory) caused an ABS fault that prevented the bike from starting. Brake lever works, brake fluid in the line, pads can squeeze the disks...but if the ABS doesn't work, the bike doesn't work. Enough of that. Tracer 900 GT +. I saw the recent post by Deany, and he says he is in West Texas. I was in El Paso last week, I went to the Yamaha dealership, and asked about the Tracer and availability. Viva Motorsports could not be less interested in me wanting to buy a new motorcycle from them. They said... "We can't order them. We only get what Yamaha sends. And nobody wants that kind of bike around here, anyway." As I said, I'm in Costa Rica (for the last 5 years) and I am moving to Las Cruces, NM at the beginning of November, and I have decided that my next bike is going to be a 2024 Tracer 900 GT+. So after all that blathering, here are the questions I hope I will start getting answers to: where can I get one? Who will sell me one? I'll travel to Maine or Washington state to get one... But where is there a dealer that will tell me they plan on getting one and would let me buy one from them.
