Congratulations on the purchase! Looks like fun!
  2. OMG! Sorry to hear that. Thats terrible... Glad you have your T7 to hopfully carry you over. Im curious how you will get "adjusted". Hopfully you dont loose out real bad.
  3. My '17 has done this also a few times this past summer. IMO I dont think its the ignition switch, I know 100% my key was full on. I tried to establish a pattern because sometimes I do have it on a tender and sometimes I do not. I went back and forth with monitoring it on the tender and not, and it would not repeat itself either way. It hasn't done it now in the last several starts and I'm still on the same battery. It's weird.
  4. This was my 1st semi lengthy trip on the new-to-me bike. Had a few nice day trips prior. It wasn't too long, right around 737 miles. I had some family staying just south of the Dells for a week so I decided a last minute trip to meet up with them was due, and the FJ would be the perfect bike to do just that! I had some newly purchased Givi Alaska side cases meant for another bike, but smartly made sure they would fit the FJ too just in case something just like this would ever come up. They worked perfectly. I rode down, spent a day with family and rode back home. I very much enjoyed riding this bike for that duration. I dont have many pics, just a couple stops along the way. I brought some snacks, a gallon of water and feed myself via kids lemonade stands and farmers markets along the way.
  5. My 2017 did something similar, but not on the road. In my garage I noticed when rotated full open it would stick. I could easily rotate it back but it wouldn't snap back on its own. I took apart the throttle assembly and went through everything to make sure it was assembled properly. It seemed ok and when I carefully put it back together it was fine. Hasn't done it since. I don't know... I do realize my 2017 has a cable.
  6. Yes I could email myself the photos to re-size them. I'll do just that when the next need arises. I just thought the forum should be able to handle larger sizes than it does. No biggie.
  7. Thanks! That pic was out in the Copper Harbor area this spring.(not on the FJ) A buddy and I spent a few days out there. And yours is very "Minnesotan" as well! I'm not sure where this "Hermantown" is, as I live waaay out near the Wrenshall area. 🤣 Yeah I love riding up the north and south shores. Just a couple weeks ago I felt the need to sit at the waters edge myself, so I tossed in a collapsible chair, bottle of water, a snack and went to Port Wing. Nothing else, just ride to Port Wing, had a snack by the waters edge and back home. It was a nice ride. (On the FJ) I was going to post a pic of that but this furum limits me to 1000kb?? I don't think I can get any pics to that...
  8. I've been lurking about this forum for some time now. I thought it was time to join- cheers! Last winter I picked up a 2017 FJ09 with 8500 miles and all farkled out. I started it before buying but given it was in the middle of a Minnesota winter, I was not able to test ride. I had never ridden an FJ before and this was the 1st bike I've ever purchased without a test ride! So big risk to me but it paid off! I've been really happy with it. I find it great to ride on short runs and longer rides as well. I let go of a 2013 Triumph Street Triple which I dearly loved for this bike, but I just wanted something that better suited some longer distance comfort. This is the bike!
