  1. I agree 100% about the drive line noises from the bike. I Changed to the 20/50 Yamalube and it did seem to be a bit quieter. I would love to see a driveshaft version of the FJ/Tracer.
  2. Hi Chris, I get zero buffeting behind the screen. Of course I get it from the side if the wind is hitting me that way. I really can't imagine a better wind screen for this bike. I've got over 30k on mine now and I too spend many hours at a time on the bike.
  3. I was wondering if anybody has attempted or succeeded in converting the FJ/Tracer from a chain drive to a belt driven machine. I have researched this but have yet to find any mention of a belt drive setup for the bike. I wish Yamaha would offer a shaft drive version.
  4. Coming up on 26k on my 2015. I just put on my third set of tires, Bridgestone Battlax T31, great tires. I'm on my second chain and sprokets and still on my original clutch cable. I am finding that my bike is getting buzzy. I'm hoping a throttle body sync will take care of that. I'm also concerned that my drive train is starting to whine more than normal, especially in 5th gear. I still love this bike.
  5. Based on this post I think I'll try stiffing up my rear suspendion a click or two. The wooble seems related to my panniers which did add more weight to the back of the bike. I'll post a follow up to let people know if this helps me out. Thanks folks!
  6. My tires are not cupped, that was the first thing I checked. I'm fairly certain it has nothing to do with my grip on the bars since the bike never wobbled before. It comes on after 90 mph and it can get violent enough for me to seldom ride that fast anymore. It happens during rapid acceleration or during a top gear roll on. I believe it has to do with the aerodynamics of the bike especially since I put the Shad 36's on. I use the bags constantly so I just keep the speed at sane levels nowadays. If anyone ever gets a Tracer GT in here on the eastern shore I will probably be getting a new one anyway. Glad to hear it's not a problem for you.
  7. I saw a gentleman named Bryan Glenn on a website named Two Wheeled Obsession do something similar to his FJR. As long as it corrects itself I'm not to concerned. As mentioned it was extremely hot here this week so I just plan on keeping an eye on it. Thanks for your reply.
  8. Thanks for letting me know. This was the first time it's happened to me. The bike's been perfect for 21,000 miles so far.
  9. I was wondering if you have experienced any issue with the dreaded "high speed wobble"? My bike, a 2015, has developed it (it didn't happen originally) and now keeps me from the fun bursts of speed. Hopefully the longer swingarm and new aerodynamics has cured that.
  10. I had something strange happen today. First let me say that it was extremely hot today as it has been most of the week. I rode the bike this morning to get bloodwork done. It was parked in direct sunlight. When I came out and started the bike the right side of my display had what appeared to be a burned circle in the middle of it. I could still see the info displayed but it was overshadowed by this circle. Luckily it disappeared after a few miles but it was distracting. Anybody have any similar happenings? I have 21,000+ miles on her.
  11. There's now one video available regarding the Tracer GT that's in english. Based on the price they quoted in pounds the GT will cost around $14,600 US dollars. Sounded a bit high to me. I just watched the video again for the exact price they quoted which was 10,649 pounds. That converted to exactly $14653.92. If it had a drive shaft I'd own it as soon as it goes on sale. For that money though I'd buy the 2016 FJR 1300A that a local dealer has brand new and cheaper. I still think it's a great bike. I just turned 17K on mine.
  12. If you're making reference to Daniel, SHAD's customer rep, it can get a bit frustrating. I had a similar experience when I ordered mine. He will come through for you. I told him I needed my bags for a trip I had planned and told him the date I needed them buy. I had them almost immediately after that conversation. Possibly a coincidence but worth a try. They are nice bags.
  13. I agree, I think the stock exhaust note sounds fine plus I'm finding it's getting a bit more throaty as the miles pile up. I also love the way it's tucked in.
  14. I just saw a new FJ09 on my dealers website for $8995.00. They're making it tough to get anything out of our used bikes. Glad I still love mine.
