  1. Motorcycle Superstore is having a final closeout on a lot of gear, plus free shipping on all orders. There's a lot of stuff on sale but the main thing I noticed were that they're selling the few Motocentric jackets they have left for a steal. I've only ever bought a tank bag and a backpack from that brand but they've held up through 2 years and plenty of abuse and I still use them. Either way a waterproof touring jacket for a little over $30 is something I think a lot of people on here might be interested in. 2. Could you take a measurement from the 3P bracket (outside edge of pipe) to furthest point out on the case? These could make great commuter cases. Even with my SH48 and a tail bag, things are often pretty tight and I run out of space on occasion. I measured it at roughly 7 3/4 inches (19.685 centimeters). My handlebars stick out a little further than the cases. I have pro taper adventure bars but I laid the stock handle bar on the back seat and the cases were only a few inches wider. This was without the hand guards of course so, when you add those even the stock bars would be slightly wider than the cases.
  3. I'll let you know how it performs the next time I go out for a ride. Between college courses and working overtime I haven't had anytime to ride this week. The quality of the screen is on par or even slightly better than the stock one. Both are about the same height and about the same thickness. The eBay one seems more sturdier (less floppy) than the stock screen. The packaging was basically some thin foam and a crap load of tape with some Chinese characters written on top. This also how I received a FZ1N headlight from China years ago, surprisingly neither had any damage.
  4. Did a few things. Finally put on the FJ-09 windscreen from ebay. Got me a set of Shad SH23 bags. I just wanted some small lockable side cases and the factory ones were too pricey for me. The Shad setup is perfect for me and the whole setup is pretty lightweight. I got the cases from the Shad website and found the 3P mounts on ebay for a little less than what Shad was selling them for, but altogether it came out to $345. Finally I got some new grips to match the seat. They're Spider SLR's. I had them on my last bike and loved them.
  5. Swapped out the stock bars for Protaper Evo Adventures. I took the bike out for a nice long ride and I like them a lot. To me they're a lot more comfortable and my arms feel like they're in a more natural position. I screwed up my right wrist real bad in a motorcycle accident a few years ago (luckily I'm a lefty) and though the stock bars were OK my wrist would bug me bug me during long rides. It probably wouldn't have bothered me much if it weren't my throttle hand.
  6. I had a problem charging my phone the last time I went out riding. It would stop charging until I removed the USB cord from the phone and plugged it in again. Then it would only slow charge and eventually it barely provided any power to the phone at the point it was draining battery. I wasn't sure if it was a problem with my phone or the bike or the adapter. I don't think that it was because the charger was wiggling out. I had that problem when I first got the bike and was using the adapter I had for my car. This time I was using an some AUKEY flush fit car charger I got from Amazon and the only way to get that sucker out is by using my nails.
  7. Just picked her up last weekend. So far I'm loving it.
