Looks like I got lucky, I have found a moving company that will put the bikes in the truck. I still have to wait for the guy to come out and give me a quote and find out how they secure the bikes. All I care about is getting the bike and my tools down there safely. This really sucks, going from a house with a three car garage and basement to a two a car and no basement. 😟

LOL I thought you meant the rattley clutch and paper thin seat!
How about the family jewels roasting over a V-Twin!

There isn't a tiny tack or carpet pin in the tyre ? they are hard to see, don't always show bubbles if the wheel is tanked as the pin can reseal the hole in the tyre when reflated. I had this problem recently on a car tyre
The bike was fresh out of the crate when I took delivery of the bike. The TPS light came on as I left the dealer and I turned around and they put air in the front and then the saga started. If the tire didn't fix the situation they were going to order a new rim. It never lost air pressure when I was riding it only when the bike sat, the longer it sat the more it lost. The bike was assembled Friday night and I picked it up Saturday morning, the guy who put air in the tire was the one who assembled the bike. He swore that he put air in the tire and I watched him replace the schrader valve when he put air in it. I was very impressed with how sensitive the TPS was on the bike.

I had the same problem with the front tire (Dunlop) on my new 2010 Goldwing from the day I took it home. Some nights it would lose 2psi other nights 6psi or more. The dealer tanked the the tire, removed and remounted the tire and finally replaced the valve stem which included the tire pressure monitor if I remember correctly. They could not find any leaks but they knew the tire leaked by the pressure drop the tire had over night when they had it ( I trust and have a very good relationship with them). Then they replaced the front and rear tire at no charge (Dunlop would not warranty it). They put on Michelins front and back so the tires matched and that solved the problem, it also solved the handle bar shake I would get going over steel grated bridges. . Another reason I hate Dunlop tires and cant wait to get them of my bikes.

Take a look at Wall Mart I bet they have a battery for your FJ that was made in the U.S.

The Amtrak Auto Train will move em for cheap from Arlington VA to Orlando area. They mount each bike on its own skid. But you got to get em from Sanford to Naples or wherever yourself.
Ahh, AAMRR. That was fun stuff. Just curious, what happens when you go through the TSA metal detector?;)
Between the neck, aftermarket knee and plates in my legs. I always get special treatment 🙂

Here for the comments.
There's some decent racetracks in Florida. Trackdays are seriously fun!
I went to school in Florida and raced in the AAMRR series back in the day. Unfortunately with 36 pieces of metal in my neck and nerve damage my track days are over. The neck is a result of a few high sides back when I was indestructible!

Unfortunately I will be leaving Eastern Pennsylvania and all the great twisty roads that I love, for south Western Florida😢 I'm looking to have 5 bikes shipped down, do any of you have any recommendations, advice or companies to avoid?
Thanks

Welcome to the forum @Roxysdad and congratulations on the new Tracer. You should have bought a 2020 900GT the color would have matched that sweet truck in you garage😉Enjoy!

I had the same experience when I put the Givi hand guards @fj09viking, as I noted earlier in this thread it really surprised me.

I installed the Givi hand guard extenders on my GT and to my surprise they really helped with the turbulence wobble.

😄😄😄I have been getting 60-65 MPG from my gt900 which is much better than the manufacturer claims I do use high grade fuel. Would be interested to know if anyone else is getting these figures
Welcome to the forum Lawrence. You need to twist that throttle and have some fun with your GT, those high MPG numbers are not healthy

Were you the original owner? Sounds like a high-miles bike that may not have been lubricated by original owner.
My 1980 Yamaha 850 Triple and 1982 Yamaha 750 Seca both had awesome shaft drives. Others mention the FJR and Maxim with no problems. Yamaha does know how to make a great shaft drive.
I have to agree with you. I bought a new 79 Yamaha XS1100, when I was eighteen and never had a drive shaft problem with over a 100,000 miles. I beat the living shit out of that bike and could not kill it, changed the oil and filter ever 3000mi and the shaft drive 90w every other oil change. The only problem I ever had with the bike was leaking fork seals, I think I put eight sets on in the time I owned the bike. Like I said, I had fun with it😀

Welcome to the forum and that is a sweet looking FJ. You should be able to easily trade those lowering links to some one who needs them for their stock ones.
-
@Gt Rider Call up corporate Yamaha and talk to them about your problems and write down dates and names of people you talk to about it. Also look into your states Lemon laws and see if they can help you with the situation
-
Are you talking about getting exhaust systems ceramic coated?

I have the R&G covers on my bike and I did not have any bolt Issues. Some people just might need to get their torque wrench's calibrated.💪

@roadrash83 - are these the ones you have?
They are still listed on Yamaha Canada's site, but I can't add them to my cart - blast!
Rob
No they are not. Those might be the new version. You can PM me with your cellphone number and I will send you some pictures.

I had a set of frame sliders (crash bungs in the UK) on my ZX14 when I went down on a low side after a kind gentleman decided to do a u-turn in front of me. The slider snapped off and therefore wrote the bike off because it compromised the frame (they attached to the engine mount). These were high-end Spiegler sliders from Germany. Since then I have wary of this type of protection.
@roadrash83 any chance you can post up a pic or two of the Yamaha frame protectors what they look like on the bike? They sure are pricey at over $300 CAD!
Cheers,
Rob
Sorry, I'm not very good at getting pictures to post. But it looks like Yamaha is not offering them any more, I could not find them on there web site.

I have always avoided engine/frame crash bars on road bikes as they can create vibration problems. I have them on my KLR650 (Sw-Motech) and they did change the vibration level on the bike. On the GT I went with the over priced Yamaha guards and R&G case engine case cover set. More than enough protection for a bike that stays on the road.

Good to hear from you wordsmith! just typed in Yamaha MT09 SP and many reviews turned up and the reviews that I looked at all seemed very positive. I sure wish that flat seat was on my GT. Happy hunting🦘

That suck!
I guess it could have been worse, but I can never understand why people do things like that.

Road 5 Tire Pressures?
in FJ-09 Tracer 900 General Discussions

@PhotoAl I ran the Pilot power on the front and Pilot road on the back on my BMW S1000rr with great results. Much better than the Dunlops that came with the bike, with 2000mi the front was cupping really bad. I'm currently running that combination on my HD XR1200 which eats rear tires and I can get a almost 5000mi out of the rear. Also running that combination on my 900GT, I only have about 3000mi on them and the rear is holding up very well.
