  1. I will second the Spiegler lines, they make quality stuff.
  2. I like them up high out of harms way.
  3. I have the same one @Heli ATP is showing above and am very happy with it. It does vibrate more than my Ram handle bar mount, but it's out of the weather.
  4. Welcome to the forum I have a 2019 900GT because it was one of the most comfortable bikes for me ride after having 36 pieces of metal put in my neck. I traded my 2014 S1000rr in on it and broke my heart, but the Yamaha has been a great replacement. Look around for the nice one you can find and the more suspension up grades the better!
  5. No, I did not do the chain conversion, but it sure looks good. The only thing I think I remember about problems with the conversion is chain sliders have to be added or the chain and swingarm don't play well together, especially when the rear suspension is raised. Stortz can give you the details on that. I would like to pick up a set of wire wheels also and keep my 17" Marchesini in reserve, Stuff is sure starting to get hard to find and expensive for our XR'S.
  6. The wire wheels sure look good on the XR. Check out Stortz Performance. They hav wire wheels and chain conversion kits for XR💲💲
  7. Did you replace the bearings with roller or ball?
  8. When I installed the Spiegler lines on my 19GT, I was not happy with lever feel after vac pump bleed. I shoot the lock off my wallet which I don't like to do. I had the dealer bleed them hooked up to the computer and that did the trick. The dealer is able run the ABS pump and it gets all the air out and fully flushes the ABS system. They said they went through 3 bottles of Yamaha brake fluid in the process.
  9. The light was set off because the front wheel was not spinning at all when the rear wheel was spinning, when you were lubing the chain. That fooled the system into thinking the front wheel sensor is bad and it through a code.
  10. Sorry to say but the Yamaha dealer is the only one that can reset the light on 19-20 model year GT's. Lots of stuff on the forum about it.
  11. Take a good look at your throttle cables they tend to also get over looked at maintenance time and can trap water.
  12. Welcome to the forum. I like what you have living in your garage! Enjoy your new 9 GT
  13. Welcome to the forum, from a former 77 XS750 and 79 XS1100 owner.
  14. All joking aside, ride her and enjoy. I would recommend some braided brake lines, can't tell by the pic's if that's been done. Also pull the fuel tank so you can look down the throttle body and check the two screws that hold butterfly to the throttle shaft and make sure they are not loose or cracked. If ok, put some penetrating Loctite on them. More than a few XR top end were wasted when they fell out.
  15. Now that you have the wife on board with your Fast Orange build🤣 You need to speak to Dan at Hammer Performance for the go fast parts for motor build. We also need to get you a set of 17" Carbon Fiber wheels and other bits from Twin Motorcycles in Belgium. Don't worry about the shipping, the wheels are really light.
  16. Congratulations on the your new XR @texscottyd. Let me know when you have a small fortune to piss away on parts and I well point you in the right direction😁
  17. The GT swingarm should fit, the FJ09 police bikes used a longer swing arm. Which is the same arm that was used on the Tracer 900GT, if I remember correctly.
  18. I still have one set of spacers left for the 320mm rotors conversion if anybody needs them. like to see them put to use and not collecting dust on the shelf.
  19. That's a clean looking XR Scotty! I have the same year and color (fast orange). I spent way more money on the bike than any sane person would admit. Olins 852 rear shocks, X front forks with K tech springs and inserts, Ohlin steering dampener, Marchesini racing 17" front and rear wheels, Race Spirits long horn air intake, Brembo 4 pot rear brake caliper, Drag Specialties engine mounts, primary chain conversion that was run at Daytona (Believe it or not they were clocked at over 150mph on the banking in the draft with a completely stock motor). Then there is the motor work, Hammer 1275 big bore kit and head work, Zipper red line cams and all the goodies. End result is 110HP and 91ftpds at the rear wheel (the guy that built the motor and tuned it said he could have got more out of it but wanted the motor to stay together and the bike still to be enjoyable for everyday riding)The end result is a bike that weighs a little over 500Lbs dry and is a blast to ride. Always gets attention when I ride it because most people don't know what it is. Aftermarket performance parts are starting to get hard to find and expensive. HD has dropped a lot of pieces from the parts catalog but E-bay has a good selection. If you have any questions about the bike PM me and look on the XR1200 owners forum.
