Why oh why use a security screw in a place you need a key to get to😂 I have torx bits but not for security screws, borrowed one from a mate.

Fitted mirror extenders with no problem, left mirror right hand thread, right mirror left thread.
The bolt pictured can loosen and mirror move back, 10mm socket ground down will fit in there.
-
Thanks for the warning! Checked mine and were tight but when I unscrewed no sign of loctite so red added 🙂

Apologies I'm an idiot don't know why I said 10mm socket, without looking maybe 14mm but pretty sure 10mm bolt!
-
Can't confirm 10mm thread without measuring but a 10mm socket fits the bolt and the left mirror has a right hand thread, the right mirror a left-hand thread!

Nice, but if the bike falls over on asphalt, most of the damage is done near the bottom of the side case. The rubber bumper wouldn't protect it at all. Maybe a rubber bumper along the bottom of the case would help some.
I put it on the widest part so hopefully I won`t scratch it on a gate post or such, if the bike falls over I will have other things to worry about😅

They won't explode at 100+ (closed course of course) but a top box may cause a tank slapper.. Depending on wind the top box on mine will cause a wobble that could progress into a tank slapper - typically starts around 110 but depends on wind as to if it will start there or closer to 130 (closed course).
20lbs is no big deal either but most of my heavy stuff is in bags on my pass seat.
Agree, 129mph (closed course) top box, gets a bit wobbly😂

I confess that I'm old enough to understand that reference... barely.
Remember that from Dad's cars, always thought it was a good idea

Swore this morning when I realised there wasn't something wrong with tyre pressure gauge, there wasn't any air in my rear tyre! On centre stand so not obvious.
So S10 40,000 miles 1 puncture, GS 800 before that 40,000 miles no punctures, Tracer GT 1,300 from new, puncture, 3,000 miles later another! This bike is very unreliable 🤣

After riding "adventure bikes" for 8 years I find the peg postion of GT natural to me, rode a Tiger 800 recently and thought the footrest are too far forward🤣
-
Personally find I can just about flat foot on GT same as S10 with low seat height, did 40,000 miles on S10 over 4 years and yes the suspension is softer and more forgiving on the country lanes around here, the GT is more sporty but not uncomfortable.
There is a bend with 2 large raised sections (road repairs) which I am more wary of on GT at speed compared to S10 but then the S10 was so heavy it flattened them lol!
Note biker came off on this bend and lost her leg a while back so an extreme example!
-
Tiger 800 demo I had a go on had DRL`s on all the time and you had to turn headlights on which made sense to me, why do you need 2 DRL`s on with one headlight on? kind of defeats the object of DRL above headlight😐

32 on Speedo = 30 gps, 43 Speedo = 40 gps, 80 Speedo = 75 gps.
More or less the same as S10 I used to own

Original Dunlops still on mine, slight cross wind, 47L givi Top box and gps 129mph (private road lol) and she was getting a good weave!
-
The only time I have engine temp showing is when I start from cold, when it goes from low to 40c I set off, never look at it when I'm riding.
Had an S10 previously and fan cuts in, in traffic in the middle of winter😯 so nice to have a bike that runs cooler !

I have an optimate lead to battery and plug compressor into that, learnt a while ago that accessory plugs don't like compressor' s!

I have thought about getting this tool tube for storage of tools or extra fuel.
I have a tool tube I took off S10 when I traded it and yes it will fit (between panniers on GT) just haven't got round to fitting it yet.

if I were to get it back, I think it would look good in blue to match the rims. or you could get tank pads and leave the panels clean?
Funnily enough a mate said get it to match wheels, I will see what wrappers say?

Warning! Check Your Side Cases Lock Screws
in Tracer 900 GT Discussions

Just dug out the mounting instructions for my panniers, obviously when I picked up the bike the panniers were on it so off I went!
The pannier locks have to be coordinated with the ignition key which requires the removal of the two T10 tamper resistant screws, it specifically states "Always apply locking agent (loctite) when fastening the Torx screw"
Mystery solved, Yamaha don`t apply Loctite because the dealer has to set them up with the ignition key! mine were tight but not Loctited, Pupsi is right!
