I get the same as well, but I like it. Feels like the bike is ready to go and it's just letting you know.

I actually have the "Short legs, long torso" issue as well, so it may bump my head up slightly higher. Seems like this one could be the screen for me... Pay day today as well!! Nice!! And thanks for the bolts tip!! Could come in handy!!

I don't own a FJ yet ... but have been through noisy screens and buffeting on several previous bikes. My current Triumph 1050 Tiger has been near impossible to get quiet. Best solution I found is what you're doing ... a very low sports screen. Not so great if you commute in very cold temps (I don't). Does look a bit ODD on my Tiger ... but your one looks great to me. Hope it's quiet enough. BTW, I went through 4 different systems on the Tiger trying to find something that would work. Nothing did expect a very low sports screen .... or running NO SHIELD at all ... which is quietest solution I found. Cheers! I may try running a "No shield" solution for a while and see how it goes... I've spent the last 7 years riding a bike with no wind protection so it won't be a problem to me. I agree though this shield looks good!!

I've decided the standard screen isn't for me... I thought I could live with a little wind noise when it was set at it's lowest level, but while on a long ride on Sunday I stood up on the pegs to stretch my legs for a few seconds and the quietness was amazing. Clearly the screen is pushing more noise into my helmet than I realised. If I have it on the high setting I get too much buffeting and still a fair bit of noise. I'm looking at this one Ermax Sport Screen (35cm) I think it will be low enough to get rid of the noise and I like the look of it. Has anyone got any experience of this screen? FYI, I'm 5'10".

I wouldn't risk it, unless they do a specific matt paint shampoo... Muck Off probably contains glossing agents. Could be worth contacting them and asking before trying it.

Do you use it as degreaser or do you apply instead of shampoo on matt painted elements? I use it for the whole bike as a shampoo. It cleans everything really well and removes chain lube easily. Good stuff.

I learnt that apparently you can turn the key just far enough into the on position to give you power to start and run the bike, but the first time you accelerate hard, the key flicks to the off position and scares the crap out of you!! Also got it booked in for it's 600 mile service next weekend... That came round quicker than I was expecting.

Use TCX S-Speed Boots myself. The none water proof version. Always worn them as they seem to accommodate my ridiculous size 12 stupidly wide feet very well compared to others I've tried. Comfy to walk around in and last a long time. My last pair lasted 5 years of regular use and although not the waterproof version only leaked twice in those 5 years even though I'm a regular wet weather rider.

Glad I got the Yamaha rad cover as well for all the same reasons. I have the same build as you. Short legs, long torso. Found the screen on the lowest setting works perfect for me. Quick ride out for me to search for extras to add to the bike... Been riding a small naked bike for years and this tall half faired bike really catches the side winds and it's been a blustery day in Derbyshire. Tank pads fitted and looking good as well.

About 50 miles taking it round to friends houses to show off to them!! I really have to stop spending money on extras!! Side tank pads arrived today. Yamaha tank bag and adaptor on order. Considering the fancy Engine Oil Filler cap, the Yamaha license plate holder and of course I'm saving for the FJR panniers!!

The biking Mecca of the UK. If you haven't experienced a Sunday on a hot summers day there be prepared for thousands of bikes. Great roads to and from. Watch out for Traffic Wardens though!! The Ponderosa Cafe, just outside Llangollen in Wales on The Horseshoe Pass... Great welsh roads, views and a fantastic meeting spot. Food is good there and if you every fancy a couple of days in Wales they have a small B&B out the back. Clean and good security to store the bike. The Cat & Fiddle Pub. Just outside Buxton, Derbyshire. Good food, and of course it's on the (In)famous Cat & Fiddle road. Average speed cameras throughout on that road, but the coffee, food and views are worth it.
