  1. just a bit over 3k and past the wear bars/squared off. Yep check tire pressure before every ride. They had real good turn-in& grip character but could tell right away they weren't gonna last- siping edges would "feather" after a spirited jaunt,eh
  2. wow, i made a stupid joke on the TW 200 forum and got banned at under 10 posts- can you say "white Christian Nazis" ( and will that get me banned here? Bummer if so and I wish all of you the best in that case, keep the rubber side down folks. Man, I think it is really getting to a be bit Orwellian out here in cyber land....)
  3. Thanks everyone so far, appreciate the input. If it was a Poll, the Michelins would be winning at 5 thumbs up to 3 for Dunlops and some outliers. We all look for certain qualities in a tire and it is pretty subjective: some folks prize mileage, others grip; some live and ride in areas that have a lot of wet weather, others ( like me) in places that experience extreme temps- super hot asphalt really eats up rubber and negates worries regarding warm up,etc. I need some grip, but with a tire that will give at least 4K on the rear as I plan on doing some serious touring this Summer. Really liked the Contis but the rear didn't last long enuff to handle an extended tour. The OEM Dunflops handled Arizona to Idaho Panhandle and back but lacked in the grip department. The Battleaxs look to last but I hate the heavy turn in and they do not inspire confidence in extreme lean angles....

  5. Cuz I need some new rubber, and that sounds far more appealing then talking WWIII, eh. So don't bother mentioning Battleax, meh... yeah they were bargain bin units from cycle gear, but no, me no like, nor the OEM Dunflops; ran Conti Road Attack 3, decent but rear wore out real fast. What ya all like for good grip and decent mileage?

  7. Cuz I'm old🙃 Yep, a brand new TW 200 ( team blue,eh). Have a hangering to go exploring off road. Looked at a 22 year old Super Sherpa, good condition but $3500? Ya gotta be kidding me. Thought about holding out for a KLX 300- hmmm, saw hospital bills in my future- not much dirt experience and that was decades ago- tend to go as fast as a bike will let me. Admit that the culture around the TW 200 ( we could say cult,eh) was a deciding factor- lots of good people, huge knowledge base, cool modds to do....
  8. Yay for you all with older Fj-09s- I reached out to Dynojet and they assurred me that indeed the Powervision 3 will connect to and work with your bikes with no additional connectors needed

  10. Oh, I see what you are asking about the fuel mileage issue: that's with Ivan's flash. As far the PV3 goes it would depend on the map you were running, again you have control with the device- you could take a good base map and tweak it for max economy, save it to the device with a new ID and then tweek the same base map for max power, save that with a ID; as well make Hot weather map& cold weather version; high elevation map& sea level maps, etc. The device will hold something like 4 base maps and 35 tweaked versions and can be left attached to the bike displaying gauge info or datalogging to aid tuning; it's weatherproof. Smart phone sized you could carry in a pocket as well. And just pull over to the side of the road to flash another map into the ecu, takes about 2 minutes to do so. I talked to Ivan after deciding I didn't like the flash and was considering options. He did not offer to returm my $$, just reset the ECU for free with me paying one direction of shipping. No doubt you are much nicer guy than me, that always helps, although in my defense I did not yell or call him any names. i was indeed a bit irked at his failure to disclose upfront that his flash would lock out any other device ( not Ivan's fault that it does, it's TTS Mastertune's thing that they don't want competitors to be able to look inside their supposedly secret sauce stuff ), but he was making claims that his was the only flash that adjusted timing and de-accel tables which is BS; the TTS will do a few things other software/devices don't but it's not particularly significant according to Dyno tuners I've talked to.

Sure in theory, you'll get a canned map with the purchase from FuelMoto and I know there is an archive of maps for our Yamaha's from both Dynojet and FuelMoto thst should cure the abrupt throttle response, I'd venture that most them are as good the general run of the mill canned flashes you can buy. And you will have control! Load other maps. take your bike to good Dyno tuner or do some tuning yourself- to me that is the attraction of the PowerVision
  12. Well I have a 2019 so not a connection question issue for me, someone else will have try it on a 2015😅. Personally while I have had a good experience with FuelMoto vis- a- vis the PowerVision for Harley, before I pulled the trigger a PV3 for a 2015 I would confirm with Dynojet, given that they actually make the product in question. The second point regarding my tts mastertune locked ECU, well I had one, a TTS , some years back for my Harley ( I've had 3 flash tuners and 2 piggyback fuelers over the last 10 years, 90k miles and seemingly endless mods to the bike) and returning to OEM config would release any locks on a Delphi ECM. Fingers crossed the same is true with the "special needs child" type ECU in the Tracer. 🤞

  15. As did I before going with his flash; main point for me was he had built his on a Dyno with a 2019 GT900. If you look there are a few other folks that have felt the same afterwards- to rich, messed up ride modes and poor fuel mileage- I lost around 4mpg. By the time I got the bike to the MV Augusta shop I was willing to shell out another $300 for a good Dyno tune, which could not happen because his flash locked up my ECU
  16. Not real happy with Ivan's flash- runs too rich in lower RPMs and ride modes seem messed up - can't really feel any change from Sport to A mode
  17. Ok well no Joy on either issue. PV3 will not work on a 2015 and will not unlock my ECU on the 2019. However, apparently Ivan's is using TTS Mastertune, given that according to the tech I talked at FuelMoto that is the only tuner that locks the ECU. So correct my assumption that the Datalink/Flash tuner stuff locks the ECU and looks like only viable option for older FJs is the Flashtuner harness. Damn guess I'm pulling the ECU again to get Ivan's to set it back to stock and then I can get a PV3 for her or maybe the harness and active tune.

Yeah I know a fair amount about the Powervision for Harley and why you have to shut off the bike ( can't be running) then turn the ignition on to actually flash the ECM- I just bought the Target Tune upgrade which does expand the range of the Long term trims, ie actually does change calibrations in the ECM while the bike is running, wonder if the EPA will go after Dynojet over it ? Yeah so far it looks that is what the Flash tune aftermarket cable harness does, enables flashing the older FJs with the ECM on the bike; however, with a Powervision the device is married to your ECM, without another PV license you can't use the device on another ECM. The Flash Tune harness is just cables, eh. But it comes with a license that is used to register the Datalink software package you download to a Laptop. Since it is just cables and software, without a way to marry the ECM to the software, you could buy one harness ( they have a bench harness as well as the bikeside harness) and flash as many ECMs as you liked- not good for profits. The downside is this locks your ECM to the Datalink software, nothing else, software or device like the PV can use the harness to read or flash the ECM. My issue with that is that there isn't disclosure- Ivan's didn't tell me my ECM would lock out any other software or device, just that I would have return the ECM to them to reset it stock format. Not to mention I didn't get a harness with my flash, so there is no way short of buying one myself to do any datalogging or tuning or buy the Active tune upgrade ( it is a small module that requires a separate license) and use it on my bike. Arggh!

Ah ha, I think this is what Ivan's is using via the bench harness and buying a license for each ECU he flashes; looks like you can buy packs of licenses, would guess a license comes with a harness and then you can download the software for free and that betoney had to buy the harness to run the Active tune. He should be able find out his license and then download software to tune with his harness and a laptop. Wonder if the harness is compatable with the Powervision, might just be a question of connectors.

  21. Looks like a good outfit. Just a cursory look at the Datalink kit for both 2019&2015 CP3s and it appears they are the same kit; may mean nothing in regards to the question at hand since it is a harness you install on the bike so it can connect the ECU( I'm guessing) to a laptop running Datalink software.....cool but probably means you have to take the laptop with you to do datalogging while riding. Used to have a TTS Mastertune for the Harley where you had to do that. I screwed up one day while flashing a new map to the ECM, Laptop battery was low from riding with it so I plugged it into AC power and promptly shorted out the ECM ( whoops whatta dumbass 🙃)
  22. No worries. Yep, the MVs are gorgeous bikes although I'd still prefer an Aprilla. I'd like to try a zero but think the battery tech needs to mature before they are viable options. Ok, I'll post when I find out.
  23. Indeed, that is a worthy TV show question, eh. I can't answer it and guess SkipperT can't either ? Shoot an email to FuelMoto or better yet Dynojet if you can't wait.... I'll ask when I talk to them about my issue in the next week or so . ( my Issue? When I had the suspension done at an MV Augusta shop, I saw they had a nice new shiny Dyno, asked them to tune my bike while they had it. They could not because Ivan's uses some other type tuner, not Powervision, and the ECU was locked, So I just had them run it for some numbers. Very Idealistic young Dyno operator that thinks many of his peers are hucksters that manipulate Dyno settings for customer pleasing numbers, Was pretty bummed to see my bike only make 112 RWHP till he showed me a chart from a tune he'd recently done on an FZ-09 with a header that only made 114 RWHP. So I want to find out if the new PV3 overcomes locked ECU issue or if I again pull the ECU and ship back to Ivan's which would really jack up my blood pressure😡
  24. Ok but it still connects to the ECU/ FI system, it is just a question of codes/ OBDII compliance, no ? I can see were that would confuse someone trying to use an OBD reader on a pre-'17 CP3....
